The area near the Bastille monument is full of opportunities to experience the ‘real side’ of Paris. The Richard-Lenoir Marché on Wednesdays and Saturdays is a signature attraction, where you can graze on local treats at very reasonable prices while ‘people-watching’ the locals and the...More

We stayed in a flat on the second floor for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Years weeks. This was a great location close to transit, pubs, bistros, food markets, pastry shops, wine stores, and fresh food markets. A real neighborhood feel with locals....More

We stayed in the edgy 11th arrondissement during a visit to Paris in September 2017. It was a great experience, in part because we stayed in an apartment rather than in a hotel; in part because of the great location (between Place de la Bastille...More

I've rented apartments in this area twice and dearly loved staying here. Full of lively streets, a great street market on Blvd. Richard Lenoir, lots of cafes and restaurants, full of young people. Come and see where the Parisians hang out. Still very close in...More

The first thing I noticed was the rides up the Eiffel Tower were great value for money. Teenagers were discounted up to the age of 24. Rides were offered at a lower price to the second floor of the tower and it was a little...More

I only stumbled upon the 11th arrondissement as my hotel was there. But the area is fine for a stroll and shows how normal Parisians live. I was very near Place Leon Blum with metro, supermarket, bars, restaurants, etc. I discovered the Saint Ambroise church...More

We rented an apartment near the Republique Metro stop. While I initially wasn't sure about the area, it turned out to be ideal. Republique metro stop has 5 lines and so it was easy to get to everything in 15-20 min, including out to the...More

The first thing to say is that apart from La Place de la Bastille it is not really a tourist area being primarily residential. We stayed on the Ave Ledru Rollin close to La Place du Voltaire. There are plenty of places to eat often...More
