I felt compelled to explain on behalf of the poster ‘aaa’ who was let down. She should not have been made to feel embarrassed that she had expected some free tasting which had been offered to many posters. She paid 31 euros for 3 tablets of chocolates and more on pralines so she certainly was not a cheap customer. However, the woman assistance of the day saw this Japanese girl and decided this Poster ‘aaa’ did not merit their usual hospitality and would not offer any tastings. I was fortunate to have the gentleman to take my orders and he did offer me some tastings, but reading the poor treatment that this poor girl received affected me too. Their chocolates were tasty but there are many other great cholatiers in Paris. I do not wish to risk receiving the poor treatment this poor Mme. Aaa received just because we share the similar appearance.
パリには他にも美味しいチョコレート店があるので特に感銘はなく、ましてや同じ日本人aaaさんのコメントにあるように他の客と異なる扱いを東洋人だから受ける可能性があるのにわざわざ再来訪する気にはなれません。

A tasting of 25 dark chocolates in their box, very intense chocolates, almost too much (lack of subtlety and elegance, artificial flavors?) Sugar saturation which clearly spoils the tasting. Very disappointing format and texture given the ratings and reviews. As a chocolate fan, we have tried many chocolatiers, if you are looking for details and emotions, try Arnaud Larher's chocolates, much more qualitative....

I had a similar experience as the Japanese customer who wrote. I went to the location on Rue Rivoli. 2 women working. A Caucasian couple was there before me and they were offered a full tasting to buy one box. I brought 2 boxes, a spread, and some bars and I was offered none. I had to ask to taste one and felt the chill. As an American, first time in Paris, I tried to use as much French as possible. When I misspoke one of the clerks laughed out loud at my attempt. I said I was trying and she half apologized. For the money I spent ($120, not Euros) for chocolate! I expected better service

Bof. Rien de speciale. Je ne comprends pas tous les revues. I've eaten chocolates at half the price that were 5 times better.

We had a list of chocolate shops to visit and were thrilled we chose Edwart as one to spend time in. We had an excellent experience learning from the lovely young woman who helped us choose from the many beautiful and delicious options. She had in depth knowledge of all of the chocolates there and gave us several pieces to try as we were making our selections. She helped with custom boxes for Mother's day gifts, and even helped with vegan options. We'll never forget our experience there and are enjoying what we took home as I write this! (The chocolate with ginger.. yum!)

Our visit to Edwart Chocolatiers was so good, we did a quick stop to collect
more goodies before our flights home.
There is an amazing assortment of deliciously crafted chocolates, each with their own back story.
Our host was a polite and vivacious young lady who took us on a journey with the tastings, whose product knowledge was incredible.
10/10 recommend to anyone who wishes to ‘treat yo self’ while in belle Paris.

Edwin and his team are super knowledgeable about how to make fine chocolate. They have a huge selection of "rare" flavor combinations that blow you away like intense lemon in the Citronnade bonbon, the Bush Sauvage made of two black peppers and one filled with Yoichi Japanese whiskey (80% of alcohol removed) and my favorite the Baobab fruit bonbon.

Paris has any number of excellent outlets for chocolate and we've tried many of them, including ones recommended by friends who have spent extended time in Paris. We walked into Edwart's in the Marais and the chocolates were simply outstanding. I would say the best we've had. The name Edwart is a hybrid of Edwin and Arthur. On hindsight I don't know whether it was Edwin or Arthur at the store, but it was one of them. Chatting with him was most informative and a delight. He generously shared varieties of chocolates encouraging us to taste them before we decided. We returned a couple of days later to buy chocolates as gifts to take home. Highly recommend a visit.

In plain Marais, an alternative chocolatier full of surprises (The piece with japonese whiskey is a must!!!), with great welcoming from the staff, including the two founders, Edwin And Artur!

We got a couple of samples...wait a couple of seconds after you take a bite and you'll taste another layer of flavor. Of course after trying a few, we had to buy a box!
