Putting on exceptional concerts is only one aspect of the Philharmonie de Paris. With its rehearsal rooms, educational centre, exhibition space, restaurants and convivial setting within the Parc de la Villette, it has been designed as a true 'living space'.

Seating uncomfortable....outside the auditorium itself it is is a like a seventies airport nightmare. Toilets for thousands with one towel dispenser....help!! Bar area sad and overcrowded ( and overpriced!!) Acoustics good ok.... but why the architect was let loose on the more practical aspects of...More

The material and design of the walls is different from everything that I have seen in Paris. I didn't watch any presentation, but I think the visit is worthy for adults and children.

Still some finishing work to be done but a beautiful first look. Sure, the elevators were wonky. People couldnt find the stairs. Bathrooms ill equipped, but the actual concert hall is gorgeous!

This is a fantastic modern venue, and my sense is that from any seat in each section you will have a great view. The acoustics are really something special.

In our brief weekend in Paris we were keen to see as much as possible so booked concert tickets in advance. This venue is striking from the exterior but with a truly stunning interior. Every seat, with rows arranged in waves around the stage, affords...More

… but how did they manage to get everything else about this grotesque building so wrong? One reason, presumably, is that the exterior screams 'grand projet' - attention-grabbing, but only in a bad way, and already showing signs of wear. The interior is just horrible....More

We were very lucky to spend an unforgettable evening here to experience Yo Yo Ma and Kathryn Stott in concert. The auditorium is breathtaking and the acoustics sublime. Beautiful once in a lifetime experience. Thank you Phil de Paris!

Very modern concert hall, audacious forms, very nice rooms, provides an outstanding setting for concerts, music and artistic events.

This futuristic landscape has come to define the
northeast of Paris. The Saint-Denis canal is framed
with luscious lawns and metallic buildings over a
wide-open space. Home to Europe's largest science
museum, this area rewards daytime and nighttime
explorations; there are three concert spaces, plus
cinemas and bars, and even open-air cinema in the
summer. The surrounding homes are a sharp contrast to

Hi, we are a family of six with tickets for an evening concert at the Philharmonie de Paris in January. I am looking for somewhere to stay in the centre of Paris, and wondering about the best way to get to and from the concert. How much on the metro from central Paris for an adult? Does anyone know if the free shuttle advertised at the end of concerts is running, or have experience of using this service? Does anyone have a map of the routes and stops? Also how much would a taxi cost for six from the Philharmonie to the centre, maybe the Louvre? Many thanks Steph

Why is the seating so uncomfortable? Especially with references like Opera Bastille and Berlin.
