There are so many kinds of gardens here: The King's Garden, Formal Gardens, and Parkland gardens. Not all fountains are operating but the basins themselves are so beautiful and restful; it didn't dampen our enthusiasm for the gardens and the grounds. Allow enough time to...More

France is the most visited country in the world, and Versailles is the 3rd most visited place in France. This year we saw the Hermitage and Versalles, no comparisons and both are complimentary. This palace is the architectural summit of the French monarchy and is...More

The gardens are huge you need minimum of half a day to explore them. You can hire a golf buggy for an hour to get round the gardens which I would recommend doing if you want to see everything. There is also a small land...More

Out of all the places we visited while on vacation this is the best and most recommended by me. I loved the scenery, just allow 2 days to view all the grounds.

I was disappointed at the lack of flowers and maintenance when I visited the gardens. I had seen stunning gardens at many other chateaux and this did not measuere up in my experience. It is vast and incredible to see, but don't expect to find...More

Gardens is a fair deal if you can visit it free, because they are lack of maintenance, fountains are dirty and 3 of 15 flows water. Only Mon, Wen and Thu you can visit it for free. Other weekdays and weekends they mount unworthy shows...More

We spent nearly more than 4 hours in this garden. I was excited to see such a huge and strikingly beautiful garden. On week days entry to the garden is free. Week end entry when there will be musical fountains will be ticketed at 8.50£...More

All (100%) of the fountains were turned off!!!! . . . really???!!! . . . Are they trying to save money or the environment? . . . It is absolutely not worthwhile to visit.

We went in June and it was not crowded at that time. You can enter the gardens at no charge. We went just to go to the gardens one evening...... we through an entrance called the Queens Gate.

Quite possible. I went on a Sunday. It wasn't overly crowded but the weather wasn't the best either. I think the nicer the weather the busier it will be.
