This is one of the most stunning places in the world and I am going to visit it again some time. Me and my friends went into the garden and I would say that you definitely shouldn't miss that. In the garden we ate at this amazing Italian restaurant where I had the best pasta in my life. I still... More

It's a wonderful palace.its only 30 minutes far from Paris. We came afternoon so it was not a big que. Nice ceilings painted with nice colours. But I find no difference and nothing more important than other big palaces in Europe. Although it's a must seen because the gardens are fantastic and impressive! I think it's better in spring or... Its WOW. We have been watching a TV Show called Versailles. Its (as you might guess) about the life of Louis XIV and the move of government and the nobles from Paris to Versailles. Its completely mind blowing. The gardens are even bigger and beautiful. No pictures can give the true perspective and dimension. Would love to go back in... More

Me my wife were in Paris for 6 days and my wifes freinds who live in Paris took us to Versailles. It was one of the highlight of our grat trip. This place is so amazing the money, time, and artsmanship it took into buiding this place is beyond imagination. We took the all attraction pass 18euro pp and was... More

The only reason I went was for the gardens (which are to die for!!). Other than that, it's a pretty big palace, lots of gold everywhere and personally I got annoyed just by thinking how much money they spent on these things while their people were starving... Part of history yes, but you're better off visiting other sites in France,... More

Versailles is one of those places you have to see if you're in Paris. It was a quick 40-45 minute train ride. You should get there early because the line to get in gets very very long. The palace itself is like many of the palaces dotted around Europe. We enjoyed the gardens though. Definitely go see Versailles, it's really... More

It was four years ago when I first visited the Chateau de Versailles. I didn't think that I would enjoy visiting again but I was completely wrong. I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I visited. Such a beautiful place and even better if you read on the history of the Chateau before visiting.

We opted for passport which provides access to all attractions in Versailles at Euro 18 per person. We also opted for guided tour of Kings private apartment at a very reasonable Euro 7 person. The tour took us to parts not open to general public with a lot of stories and history. It was awesome. One of the highlight was... More

I am glad my wife and I took a side tour to Chateau de Versailles. A tour of the palace and gardens can take a whole day, but the grounds are splendid to walk through and enjoy.

This was like walking back in time and so much has stayed beautiful. The art work, the gardens, the stair cases, the tall windows. I do think about how there was such a lack of privacy in this palace as there are very few hallways. The rooms seem to lead into each other. How did the king get much of... More
