This beautiful place is part of the guided tour through the castle of Versailles. I'm not sure if you can access this place without a guide. It's a wonderful room, you should take the chance to visit it. Made completely out of wood and with so many beautiful details. Nowaydays there are still operas in this place.

We saw this as part of a guided tour we did on the day. Highly recommend spending a little bit of time to go and see it. It's just nice to sit in the opera house, and try and think back to what it would have been like hundreds of years ago. Would love to go back one day when... More

It can be viewed as a part of guided tour of Kings apartments. The auditorium is amazing with rich color and huge chandeliers. Loved all the stories that our guide had to tell about the opera.

Couldn't believe they could fit 1000 people in this tiny theater. If you are staying in Versailles they still do productions here. Very quaint & smart design.

The Royal Opera was part of our guided tour. It was a privilege to sit and be led into the past glory of this magnificent place. We discovered how the stages worked and I loved the idea of a floating floor and how the whole area could be converted into a ballroom. This is not to be missed!

This was part of our private tour. We were able to sit in the lower chairs and everything is original from the 17th century!!! It was only used a handful of times, unbelievable the technology they used to design!

I was amazed to be shown this very special theatre on our private tour. The history is amazing and I am so glad it has been restored to it's original beauty. I would love to see a performance here one day too.

I visited this area on a private tour, but would love to attend a performance here. It is one of the most beautiful theatres I have ever seen and wonderfully restored.

A guided tour is a must to appreciate this visit which may include the main palace. Again bathroom access is an issue

The architect had only 250 days to build this opera house, in preparation for the wedding of Marie Antoinette to Louis IV. The corners cut are visible only when revealed. It is an awe inspiring house.
