This place has history oozing out of every square inch of real estate. This is where peace agreement was signed off, ending WWII hostilities, this is where you will find Marie Antoinette's bed as you leave the Hall of Mirrors and Napoleon's bed as you go into it. Hover,I have to be honest, this is where everyone gathers when they go to Versailles, it is simply so permanently overcrowded that you are able to feel the body heat from other sweaty and well walked people around you, you are hardly able to move an inch every 3 seconds... you would be lucky if you ere able to see your reflection on one of the historic mirrored walls... Expect impatient people all around you. Is it worth it? Yes, absolutely, is it ideal, certainly not, too many people at once.

Located 20 km from Paris in the Versailles estate, this is arguably the most beautiful room in the world.
357 mirrors hang on the walls opposite the windows, strategically placed to reflect the natural light.
Additional glitter is provided by the sparkling chandeliers hanging from the richly decorated ceiling painted by Le Brun, depicting glorious successes of Louis XIV. And further opulence is provided by many gilded bronze trophies, capitals and marble and porphyry busts of Roman emperors.
The richly decorated King’s and the Queen’s apartments can be accessed from the Hall of Mirrors. We visited at the end of September and felt the visitor load was not too bad, we were able to take all the time we needed to see the details. No selfie sticks allowed.

it is almost impossible to descibe what is the most impressive part of one of the most impressive palaces in the world. However, the size, the elegance, the crystal chandeliers, the magnificent flooring, ceiling!, the gold, and the light make this the place that stands out even in a palace such as Versailles. It is worth getting there early and spending time before the huge crowds arrive.

I went there in March of 2017 and this would not let me choose an earlier date. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences. There is nothing comparable to walking the infamous Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. My tour guide was amazing and was able to give such great information regarding the history of Versailles and getting to explore on my own was just as eye-opening. I can't wait to go back.

The Hall of Mirrors is a spectacular mix of painted ceilings, chandeliers, statues and light, and doesn't disappoint. What does is the absolute hordes of people cramming into it, making it impossible to enjoy its full beauty - hence the 'average' rating. Imagine a football crowd queueing for the turnstiles - THIS is the Hall of Mirrors on a Sunday morning in November

I am a seasoned traveller and have seen many palaces, The Hall of Mirrors must be the most beautiful palace hall I have every seen in my life.

However, it was so crowded (I visited in July 2023 before the school holidays started) that I did not feel any special emotions that I expected and certainly should have but did not experience when standing in the room where kings and queens were having ball receptions and noble people had all sorts of discussions.

When you see the main photo of this attraction, please expect to be in the room with hundreds of other tourists. While it spoils the magic it is still a very special place and a must see!

This entire experience was Devine. Only problem was we we're there in 'dec and so was every other vacationer. The Ines moved along and we had plenty of time to take it all in, however, just to have been in that endless line took away from a real personal experience. The various floors were simply exquisite and almost desirous to have in my own home.. ha. Another highlight of our trip to Paris...

The Hall of Mirrors is the jewel in the crown of the Palace of Versailles. It was meant to make a strong statement about the god-given power of the King, Louis XIV, who was responsible for the building of the Palace. The Hall of Mirrors is also famous for being the site where several important historical events have taken place, one of them being the Proclamation of the German Empire in 1871, after the German states had defeated France in the Franco-Prussian War, and another the signing of the Treaty of Versailles at the end of World War I, in 1919.

Remember the animated immortal movies like Snow White and Cinderella and other Disney enchanting stories where princesses and kings and queens hold a banquet inside the palace?
A visit to the hall of mirrors literally brings you to the location/scene when you step inside the massive hall of mirrors! It’s a grandiose display of chandeliers and glass windows. When you look out the windows, you will definitely see the picturesque huge gardens of the Palace. But if I were to name it, I would call it “hall of glass” instead of hall of mirrors. I could count with my fingers, the number of mirrors.
But just the same, you would say tjj on yourself, “ So this is how royalties live!

We had such a great time on this tour and this was one of our favorite rooms. The fact that it tools amazing after all these years is just breathtaking. I would go back again. Def at sunset as well. The history behind the room and each and every room is just so interesting.
