Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have helped hang international exhibition photos in the Pav Populaire almost every year and have visited exhibitions regularly over the past five or more years, so it is a locale known well to me. Some exhibitions are stimulating and exiting visually but sad to say I have found a number recently of little interest and very mediocre photgraphic standards. Entry is free so it is an opportunity to have a look and evaluate the photgraphic work selected as you please. Located just off the "Comedie" it is in the centre of the city.

The exhibition I saw when I was there was quite nice. It was free but unfortunately you had to show covid-pass and wear a mask.

The Pavillon Populaire is well located in the center of Montpellier, on the grand esplanade next to the Place de la Comédie. Entry is free. The expositions we have seen over the last two years have been excellent. An added plus is the free guided tour which is offered a couple of times a week. The guide is excellent, he had well researched the subject and prepared an enjoyable, informative presentation.Highly recommended for all visitors to the city.

This 'space for photographic art ' cannot be praised too highly for keeping a steady flow of interesting photography exhibitions in front of the public. Viewers may not be enthusiastic about all the shows, but for anyone with even a passing interest in photography the shows always provide something new. And for free!

All the exhibitions aren't necessarily to my taste, but there are some very good ones (we've had the Linda McCartney one and the Hitler one, for example), and it's free, so there's no reason to complain. Really, a nice thing to have in town.

Caught this I am a Man photo exhibition on it's first morning. Loads of images of both sides of the US civil rights battle in the 1960s including Klu Klux Klan meetings and negro marches. Well worth seeing if in the area... and it's free!

It is easy to find pavillon as the building is very characteristic and located near a highly attended Place de la comedie. We have seen two exhibitions, one presenting photos from ghettos and the other one presenting propaganda photos of Hitler, taken by his faithful, personal photographer. Both were interesting and moving, for me particularly as I am from Poland, where the majority of the photographed ghettos were located. Short but informative descriptions help to understand the photos but do not dominate them. A great supplement to the history lessons. A bit too heavy topic for summertime and holidays, so the exhibition was not crowded. But well organized and worth seeing for sure.

When we visit Montpellier we always visit this gallery. It specialises in photo exhibitions and we have seen many good ones in the past! We didn't know that they were exhibiting Linda McCartney's photos and didn't realise what an excellent photographer she was. There are many photos from the 60s of the Beatles, Stones, Yard Birds, Jimmy Hendrix etc - it reminded us so much of our youth!! There are also photos of her family life with Paul, their children and animals. It is the first retrospective in France of her work and definitely worth a visit.

The exhibit that was featured in February 2018 were photos of Algeria in the 1930s. The photographers did a good job of capturing the people of the time. We were there for a little more then 30 minutes. It was nice that it was free to visit.
