A terrific tower in Nimes. It was built around 14 BC, as part of the walls around the city for its protection from attacks. It is on a high point and can be sen from a distance. It is obviously in ruins now, but you...More

We enjoyed Tour Magne. A rigorous walk up a fairly steep and then many steps to the top for great views of the city. For us it was a great way to cap off our day at Nimes.

We had a combi-ticket with Maison Carré and Les Arènes, so price was very low to visit. Nice city view, though for the best Roman experience you have to see Les Arènes.

Walk through the Fountain Gardens is best rather than driving up as there is so much to see in the gardens themselves. Shame you can't get into the Tour

Possibly one for the lovers of classical architecture, it doesn't blow you away in the way that the Arene or Maison Carre do, but its height and survival are amazing given its age and vandalism in the past. Apparently amazing views front the top if...More

There is a charge if you want to climb to the top, but you could also just follow the stairs or winding uphill roads to the foot of this tower (which is free). A lot of information provided regarding the colorful history of this tower.

This is for the fit person who doesn't mind steep stairs. There is a lot of up hill climb g to do before you get there, and, when you do get there, the steps into the top are very steep; most people once they get...More
