Well worth a visit if you are in or nearby Metz. Great stained glass, including Chagall windows. The cathedral is huge, architecturally interesting and the surrounding area is pleasant. There was an organist playing when I visited (although that wasn't so great! About 5 minutes...More

Lovely cathedral, one reservation I would have is the beggars standing directly at the entrance gate, the building itself is well worth a look inside.

Very tall cathedral, lovely stained glass although quite dark interior. Some windows by Chigalle. Statues on outside interesting and well preserved or renovated.

We visited here back in 2003, when the entire building exterior was being cleaned of 800 years of grime; today it is magnificent! We absolutely loved the stained glass windows throughout the cathedral. You MUST see this church if you are in Metz, no excuses!

Interesting cathedral inside and out. Be sure to look at stone carvings over door you enter (not main door). Interesting inside - I spent about an hour going around and looking. There is a pamphlet that helps a self-guided tour.

If you are into curches, baroque architecture and magnifique glass windows - this is your place to be. Chagall at his best! 6000 square meter of stained glass, a nice orgue and closeness to Providence.

I also had a dog with me but had to leave her outside, so I took her back to the car before visiting.
