Very Nice, An Excellent Old Basillica

Somewhat plain inside compared to some but it had a somberness that I think I missing in some ancient churches-cum-tourist attractions. My wife and I toured, left for lunch, and came back to tour the crypt, but unless we took a very wrong turn, we were a bit disappointed with the crypt. I have to be frank-- I love old... More

This is a vast and complex basilica on the site of a very early bishop's grave. Started sometime in the 11th century, it grew and grew taking a beautiful Romanesque brick form. Inside, the apse has a set of radiating chapels called chevets. This amazing building dominates this part of Toulouse. The entire quartier is being prepared to be a... More

This church is absolutely beautiful with amazing architecture and history and a short walk from the city center.

I last visited this when I lived in the city some 30 years ago and it was in a parlous state. Glad to see on my return that it had received some TLC and is a magnificent cathedral once again

I see why this is rated #1 thing the see here. Worth seeing if you like visiting churches. My guess is 45 minutes to 90 is more than sufficient. Lots of public parking around, costing 3 euros for a few hours. Access to view the area under the dome costs a couple euro donation.

This was one of my favorite places in Toulouse, the architecture of this church is impressive, its height and decorations deserve being observed carefully. Don't miss the gardens and the chapel, they worth being visited too. I spent like 2 hours observing all the parts of this awesome construction. Another fact, Saint Tomas de Aquino is buried here, an interesting... More

Amazing visit but watch out the mornings when there is a market as you cannot enjoy the basilique that much. Recommend by night.

European Biggest roman style Church. A true architectural master piece. If you have been to Ho Chi Minh you may find the equivalent in Viêt Nam. A piece of history. Please take the time to visit.

Even on a damp, miserable day this church is inspiring. On the outside it is impressive, with an unusual design and set in a very pretty part of town. Inside is beautiful because of its simplicity and well worth spending at least 20 minutes walking around. Unfortunately the tower is apparently closed at present as it is not safe for... More

It was quite an experience to see a medieval basilica which was not damaged during WWII. I can only recommend a visit to soak up the atmosphere and for history buffs read up on its construction and how it fared over the centuries.
