Walk or cycle over the old and new bridges, great cycle path along the north bank? (airport side). When we were here, the Garonne's banks were flooded and it was quite a spectacle. But it is always a beautiful aspect of Toulouse's charm and appeal. Boring suburbs on the other side from the old city.

The mighty Garonne seems to amble its way through Toulouse and that is a very good pace to take when you walk along the banks of this river. There is so much to see and so many places to stop and have a snack or drink. There is a real sense that the Garonne is the life blood of Toulouse... More

In the south-west of France, very often the weather is favorite for the nicest walk of Toulouse. Just follow the banks of beautiful Goronne river and discover historical buildings and amazingly sceneries disrupted by ancient bridges like the 500 years old Pont-Neuf. And all that accompanied by thousands of plane trees.

On a nice day a pleasant stroll. We decided to walk along the central part of the city river on the day of the marathon! However it seemed to bring the setting more alive. Thundering hoards to one side and the slowly moving river to the other. The old bridge is superb. Information boards along the walk are in French... More

We walked along the Garonne for half an hour or so, watching the traffic on the river (mostly skiffs and rowboats) and enjoying the view. It was a nice sunny afternoon: perfect for a riverside stroll.

There are some lovely paths/walkways near to the river and access to the waterside near the Pont Neuf. Our visit coincided with glorious October sunshine and warm temperatures and we saw the water from a lovely boat ride, including a trip along a little of the Canal du Midi

I took this barge trip as it was included in my Pass Tourism. The bus nr 12 is the nearest stop. Although the trip is just under 90 minutes, it is a very slow moving sail, and only covers a few hundred metres of the LA Garonne and side canal....twice! All audio is given by the captain in French, the... More

Nice place to chill with your Monaco Beer on a Friday night in good company. The reflection of the bridge Pond Neuf in the river is beautiful. You can relax there for hours and enjoy the happiness of the place. You feel secured with the constant presence of policemen. Really nice place to have a pause!

Pont Neuf on the River Garonne is a great place for a few snaps and the surrounding parks and walkways are a great way to relax. Chat out this part of Toulouse you won't be disappointed.
