    Nice exterior
We walked from the opposer side of the city to view the church, we look at many others along the way. all of which were open. This was the only one that was closed. which is strange as the Catholic Church is supposed to be open to everyone.

    An unusual architectural delight
This was an unexpected find and possibly one of the most interesting cathedrals I've visited for a while. Started in the 1850s (so surprisingly new!) it was finished in 1999. The architectural styles change from East End to West End from Victorian Gothic to modern. The west end in particular is very unusual and worth visiting in the afternoon when the sun is shining through the marble. Peaceful and unusual!

    A free must-see!
This church is a must-see because the facade is beautiful on the inside. Check our YouTube channel for the videoguide to see how beautiful it combines modern and traditional architecture. Free and quick visit, definately worth the nice experience!

Loved lille but even in the churches you have people sitting in the door begging. They harass you as u walk around. As I'm travelling alone I did not feel safe. A crowd of them would come up and beg for money. I had four men at one time.

This cathedral was reported as damaged during warfare and instead of a sympathetic restoration there is a stark modernist facade which leaves the visitor in no doubt as to the statement being made regarding moving on

If you're looking for old, original architecture - this isn't it. The cathedral is an odd mix of the old (towards the back), and then abruptly very new and modern in the front. Also did not appreciate getting stopped by a panhandler inside - perfectly polite and will back off if you refuse, but unexpected.

I’ve seen more cathedrals that I can count and I work in finance so that’s saying something lol. But few if any are as wonderful as this one in Lille. The exterior design may not be to everyone’s liking but once inside it is positively stunning.

They’ve also done a world class job of showcasing their history and telling their story with modern signage and lighting and first rate materials. They’re the gold standard for how other older buildings should tell their story.

I also attended weeknight mass here in the chapel and it was a beautiful mass.

This is a cathedral that oozing dignity and charm. Make sure to make time to see it while you’re in this enchanting city.

This is a grand old cathedral with a new front, including doors. It’s spectacular without the splash of colour one gets in some cathedrals. Well worth a visit. Look at all the figures on the doors.

You must first take in all the outside, and then go inside to be even more surprised. The outside looks like it is unfinished, however once inside it is the perfect jewel.
