First, if you go to Lille on Eurostar, you can get a 2 for 1 entry on this muesum. For the visit you will need at least 2 to 3 hours to appreciate the exhibits including paintings by Rubens, Donatello, Chardin, Goya, Rodin and Delacroix....More

We were told that this musee has one of the largest art collections outside of Paris and we were certainly not disappointed. As always with large galleries, it makes sense to concentrate on one part rather than expose yourself to serious cultural overload. I opted...More

A nice museum, with the most unhelpful staff on the ticket desk. They didn't offer me a map or guide (I had to ask), and when I took an audio guide (which they also didn't offer) the headphones didn't work and the battery ran out...More

We were here for a couple hours on our visit to Lille, and it was well worth it. The museum itself is quite beautiful, and we loved the enormous modernist hanging sculptures in the entry. There were not a lot of "masterpieces" here, yet they...More

I dropped a star here, because I didn't manage to find my way to the sculpture collection. Not sure if that was a result of the current refurbishment or me being ditzy. There is an excellent and varied collection of work on display here. Picasso,...More

Not as good as the guide book suggested - a few clear masterpieces by eg Rubens, Brueghel, but a lot of inferior works including by well-known painters. A good gallery space however and an outstanding but simple cafe.

As a wet weather activity in Lille this is very worthwhile doing with some fine paintings through the ages. Very Good for an hour or two.

This museum is located in an interesting building, though I forgot to ask about its history. The layout is simple, with a central round square, and around it one ring of halls. To me the most impressive part is the hall on the left, with...More

We loved the Donald Duck Exhibition. It is a great way to get kids on a grand tour of a fine arts museum. Will the exhibit travel to other cities, in particular any on the west coast of the United States? Thank you
