We were travelling to Lille for a different reason but decided to visit the Christmas market as it was on during our stay. The market is set in Place Rihour. We have been to a few other christmas markets, but found this to be very small. It has an entrance and exit so people tend to flow along one way.... More

This is a small but nice Christmas market. English is widely spoken, the vendors very friendly and the food delicious. It doesn't compare to larger German markets but it is well worth a visit while in Lille. Do take a ride on the ferries wheel; the bird's eye view of the city is wonderful.

Went on a Eurostar day trip to Lille, primarily for the Christmas market. Do not waste your time or money going - there are only about 30 stalls, most of which have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas and you can get around in 10 minutes. I have been going to Christmas markets throughout Europe for the past 20 years... More

We took advantage of cheap Eurostar tickets for a day visit to Lille. We have been before and the main purpose was to shop at the Hyper market but the Christmas Market proved an added bonus. The market is enclosed with a monitored entrance and exit for added security. Compared to the German Markets this was quite small and didn't take... More

By far the worst Christmas Market I have been to. We visited specifically for the Christmas Market and were really disappointed at the number and quality of stalls. As other reviews have highlighted, it's generally food and tat stalls with nothing for the kids whatsoever. There are a couple of rides (inc Ferris wheel) in the nearby square, but we... More

Place Rihour is currently home to Lille's Christmas market, which is well worth a visit. Good choice of handicrafts. Great food stall, or alternatively eat in the warmth in La Chicoree! Enjoy!

We were fortunate that the Christmas market was on while we visited. There are lots of art and craft chalets. Lots to choose from .Thenthere are drink chalets pate's , food , toys. All in the centre . There were bag checks on entry. Situated not far from Gare Lille Europe and Gare Lille Flanders stations. A great place to... More

Do not visit Lille for its Christmas market. Very poor. Very small (10 mins max) and stuff for sale is mass produced. Loved Lille overall though. Lots of great shops. What a great find

Central and vibrant square of the city. If Grand Place is of course nicest and more famous, here you can find a nice spot with a bit less crowd but still central and alive. To be visited above all at night, better in weekends, when you can see how important it is for the citizens of Lille.
