The tour was excellent, our guide was very knowledgeable on every site he took us to. We were given enough time at each location.

The tour was amazing, to see history vs hearing it second hand really brought so much more feeling for all those involved. While it was a wintry day we wouldn’t have changed a thing. The towns were so beautiful and the landscape memorable, so many things to see and experience.

We took a private D day tour with Guillaume on a cold windy Sunday. He helped to make it such a wonderful day by improvising to limit our time in the elements while still sharing the rich history. You could tell he is passionate about providing a top notch personalized tour. His English is exceptional and he is so good at answering questions which arose during our day together. Ending the day at the cemetery was the perfect touch to end the tour. Would prefer no other guide but him in future.

Our family of 5 (two adults, a 16 year old, 14 year old and 10 year old) spent the day on a private tour with our guide, Antoine Muriel. Mr. Muriel was absolutely wonderful. The knowledge he was able to share with us was impressive. The fact that he could keep three kids attentive and interested for the length of the tour was impressive. It's not a tour to plan without great thought on how much time you will actually need to stand alone quietly and think about what you have just learned. To let the gravity of the events settle in yourself. If you need those moments this is the tour to take. You feel you know the events of D Day much more intimately and you will feel you understand the people of Normandy better than you ever would. I have taken many wonderful tours throughout the world and this rates as one of the most impressive. Thank you Overlord Tours and Antione Muriel.

My family (including two teenagers) took a personalized day-long tour of the D-Day highlights through the Overlord tour company. We lucked out with an amazing tour guide — indeed, the best tour guide we’ve ever had anywhere— a local fellow named Guillaume.
Guillaume picked us up in Bayeux and took us to several locations, all while providing a running commentary of fascinating details related to D-Day. We were astonished at how much, as Americans, we simply DID NOT KNOW about June 6, 1944, especially given that D-Day was perhaps the most important date of the 20th century.
I am especially grateful that Guillaume was willing to share his own family’s personal stories about the occupation which added significant color to narrative. I am also pleasantly surprised that he was able to keep the attention of our teenagers!
We recommend Overlord Tour, and especially Guillaume, when you are in Normandy.

We weren't sure what to expect booking a tour of Omaha + Utah beaches for late Nov, but this tour highly exceeded our expectations. The weather cooperated, we practically had the place to ourselves, and were accompanied by the best guide - Thierry. Thierry was very informative and engaging, and a phenomenal story teller. His interest in the subject matter was palpable and infectious. This is certainly not "just a job" for him, instead you can tell Thierry prides himself on being able share the area's history with its visitors. He's the kind of person you'd want to spend a full day with - and that we did. The van was spacious and clean. We had options for lunch, and our stops were perfectly timed to ensure we were able to see & do everything on our itinerary. This review is an easy one to write, and we won't hesitate to get in touch with OverlordTours if we make it back for further exploration of Normandy.

I have an avid interest in WW2 and have a family member buried at the American Cemetery, first time to Europe. I researched several "D-Day" tour companies and was a bit late in doing so, discovering many tours were already booked a few months before our trip. Fortunately there were two spots available for a full day beaches+St. Lo tour with Overlord which had mostly favorable reviews onine.
Very professional operation and our guide Remi was outstanding with a deep knowledge of every place we visited (and there were many). Not only did Remi educate the group of about 8 (all couples from the States) about the "big picture" pre, during, and post D-Day but he added multiple layers of nuanced detail and information of the areas we visited. Remi's English was perfect (he has the best darn hair!) and the flow of the day was just right.

My family of four (two adults and two kids 15/9) had a great experience on a one-day WWII tour of Normandy, expertly guided by Guillaume with Overlord Tours. Guillaume's deep knowledge of history and passion for storytelling brought the events of D-Day vividly to life. The tour both informative and deeply moving, as Guillaume's beautifully intertwined historical facts with personal stories. The tour was well-organized, covering key sites like Omaha & Utah Beaches, Pointe du Hoc, Sainte-Mère-Eglise, and the American Cemetery with enough time to reflect and absorb the significance of each location. Guillaume's deep respect for history and his engaging approach made this tour a memorable and highly recommended experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the beaches with Overlord Tours. Thierry was a wonderful guide. He provided interesting insight to the battle that occurred and to the soldiers who fought there. We asked to change our tour a little and he was very accommodating. I highly recommend this tour.

We will arrive in Cherbourg via cruise on May 2, 2023. We are scheduled to be in port from Noon until 7:30PM (19:30). Do you run tours to Omaha Beach & American cemetery from Cherbourg? Our cruise ship docks in La Havre on May 8. There are 4 of us (2 couples) from the USA and would like to arrange a private tour of Normandy -- D-day landing, Omaha beach, US cemetery & related sites. We would expect this to be a full day tour with pick-up & drop off at the ship. Please let us know the options & related costs, and any other suggestions (do's & don'ts) that you have.

I am planning to arrive in Caen in the overnight ferry getting in at 6:45. I am hoping this will give us plenty of time to get to Bayeux for an 8:20 start.

Hi, it is around a 45min taxi ride from the ferry terminal in Caen to our meeting point in Bayeux.
If you opt to join a Group tour and you are late the group will leave without you. You could opt for a Private tour - if you are late the guide will wait for you.

Hi! I am interested in the private tour of the D day beached in mid-April 2020. My father wants to follow the specific path my grandfather took when fighting in WW2. He landed on Omaha beach, traveled to Saint Lo, then to Mortain (My father has the specific spots my grandfather wrote about being in). Would this be a possible path for the private tour or do we need to stay at the D day beaches? I believe Mortain is about 1.5 hours drive from Bayeux. Please let me know

Linda, contact Overlord Tours directly. I can't say enough positive about their preparation and depth of knowledge about the D-Day sites. They will give you pricing and details of what they can do to tailor a tour for you. We saw Omaha/Utah beaches, the American Cemetery, and Ste-Mere-Eglise. We were also docked overnight at the cruise port in LeHavre, so it is a long day (8 am - 5 pm) but SO worth it! Enjoy ...

Does anyone know a good website for the train schedules between Paris and Bayeux? The earliest train I see gets in around 10am which makes the full day private tour difficult if your staying in Paris...thanks!

If you’re just interested in seeing Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the American cemetery, the half day tour is adequate. If you also want to see Utah Beach and St. Mere Eglise you’ll need to stay overnight in Bayeux and take a full day tour.

Not sure what you mean by “17 or so site” but we had more than enough time at each stop. They were very good and never did I feel rushed.
