We contacted Bertrand through Tripadvisor and scheduled a private tour for two couples. He quickly responded to our inquiry and confirmed the details for the day tour. Bertrand walked us back to that day in history with details of the events for each landing area including the towns that were part of the initial invasion. He is well versed in the invasion day details and will also introduce to you the impact of the invasion on the French population. Bertrand is a very personable guy and a pleasure to spend the day with. He also is a movie and vintage car enthusiast. I highly recommend him and would hire him again. You will not be disappointed with his service and will have a great day touring with him!

My husband and I spent a day with Bertrand on the Normandy beaches. We do not generally use guides and this was a bit of a splurge for us but worth every penny! Bertrand's years of experience and deep knowledge are evident. It's an experience that will stay with us. (His knowledge of American cinema is also impressive!).

My wife and I used Bertrand 12 years ago, the first time that we visited Normandy. He was fantastic.

This time we traveled with several couples and adult children (total = 12). This time it was even better.

Bertrand's enthusiasm and knowledge are incredible. He describes each site and event from the perspective of those who lived through it. He can teach new things to those who have read a couple of books on D-day without overwhelming those who did no research before the tour.

His ability to provide background information on many of the soldiers buried at the American Cemetery above Omaha Beach, helped personalize the graves of those who fought for freedom.

I have taken guides tours of other battlefields, e.g. Gettysburgh, but this one was the most informative and educational.

He also reccomended restaurants and beaches that were very helpful.

Thank-you Bertrand.

Bertrand provided an excellent tour of Saint-Mere Eglise, Utah and Omaha Beaches, along with Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery at Colleville. His knowledge of all these places--and many more--is deep and impressive, and he brought the history of Normandy to life in a way that greatly enriched our visit there.

Going to the beaches was on our bucket list but none of us are what you would call history buffs. We decided to splurge on a private tour and made arrangements with Bertrand Saudrais - what a great decision!

He picked us up at our hotel in Bayeux in a comfortable minivan. Since we didn't know what all we wanted to see, he planned the entire day and really brought history to life. He is a movie buff and recommended a dozen films to watch. He has so much knowledge and energy around WW2, it was a delight to visit with him.

I am so glad we booked a full day rather than a half day - we ended at the American Cemetery at 5pm and watched the lowering of the flag which was very moving. We highly recommend Bertrand!

My family and I really enjoyed our time with Bertrand. This was our first time visiting and touring the area and his mastery on the subject brought history back to life. He was very flexible as our schedule changed last minute but this was such a highlight for me.
I truly recommend this tour to anyone visiting and wishing to pay their respects to these fallen heroes.

We had the distinct pleasure of booking Bertrand Saudrais at bertrand@executived-daytours.com for our family's personal Normandy D-Day Tour on May 27th, 2023. We could not sing enough of Bertrand's praises, from his personal style to his wealth of knowledge about D-Day, to his at-ease personality that fit us perfectly.
To start, we found Bertrand by looking at his website (executived-daytours.com). He was very prompt in getting back to us, and immediately gave us suggestions for things to read and watch in preparation for our tour. This recommendation was extremely helpful because it got our kids involved in the tour before we even arrived. He continued to work with us to tailor the tour to what we wanted to see, bringing us to important locations for the 101st and 1st ID at our request. His tour is not canned; he will ensure that he meets your needs across the entire D-Day front. He even took us to the Normandy American Cemetery for the flag-lowering, for which we were immensely grateful.
Bertrand's deep knowledge of June 6th, 1944, as well as the events that preceded it and happened because of it, was amazing. It was obvious that Bertrand is well-read on the landings, able to pull data from numerous different books and interviews off the top of his head having to do with whatever topic we were discussing at each location he took us to. He was able to take us off the beaten path to different locations we would not even have thought of (1LT Meehan's of E/2/506 plane crash location, for example). He had an answer for all the questions we asked, and even had props to show us, such as old pictures, maps, and quotations. We could not have asked for a better person to deep dive the landings for us.
The last reason that we would recommend Bertrand to anyone (large family, small family, or individual) is his personality. He immediately put us at ease when we met him in St. Mere Eglise. He was not overbearing, was very respectful, and was extremely patient. We have a lot of young kids who could be distractions, but he engaged each one of them, and was patient with us whenever one would start acting up. Bertrand was extremely professional and nice throughout the 9-hour tour. It was a long and eventful day that Bertrand made better.
We cannot recommend Bertrand Saudrais enough to our friends and family for personal D-Day tours in Normandy. We plan on going back to Normandy again, and when we do, we will ensure that we coordinate with Bertrand so he can be our personal guide. He is the best there is!

Four of us had a great all day tour taking in Aramanche, Gold and Juno beaches, Pegasus Bridge, Pointe du Hoc and Omaha beach. Bertrand brought the history to life providing the storey of the D-day landings and knowledgeably answering our many questions (without getting too buried in the detail). Two of our party who were less into history and the war were not sure whether they would come on the tour, but decided to come along. At the end of the tour they said it was SO interesting, “unmissable”. I would thoroughly recommend Bertrand as a guide. He was punctual, well prepared, with good English language skills and a clean comfortable car.

Perfect tour for our family. Our family of 3 had the pleasure of spending the day with Bertrand early June as the area prepared for D-Day Celebrations. Bertrand was an excellent guide throughout the day, but he also made it an easy experience for us coming from Paris for the day. He provided the information on what train to take and was ready upon our arrival in Bayeux.

Throughout the day Bertrand was organized, knowledgable and enthusiastic about the information he was providing as we visited the WWII sites. Bertrand did an excellent job keeping our teenage daughter engaged and quizzed her on not just the history but her French as well. Bertrand was very professional but also very personable which made the day the perfect experience. Highly Recommend Executive D-Day Private Tours to make your time in Normandy unforgettable!
