We found this museum to be very informative and well programmed for all to understand. The cinema was excellent with its English interpretation of the invasion of Normandy. Something not to be missed when visiting Bayeux

I was very impressed with this museum. There was a good balance between information and artifacts on the D-Day landings and the on rest of the Normandy campaign, of which I knew little about compared to the main event of 6 June. The lay-out was sometimes confusing and I found it was easy to unwittingly lose your place chronologically. The... More

There are numerous WWII museums in Bayeux and the beaches. In our opinion you do not need to visit each as they are much the same. We did visit Bayeux on Sunday 5 June and the city celebrates the liberation on the closest Sunday to 6 June. It was a great day with a liberation re-creation convoy down the main... More

This fabulous museum tells slightly different stories than the other war museums in the region. This one focuses on the people and the reporters who brought us heart wrenching stories while putting their lives at great risks. It provides a deeper dive into each country's operation and showcases the equipment used such as guns, vehicles, and uniforms. The memorial dedicated... More

Beautifully kept, inspiring so many American lives given to save Europe and the world. Good bathrooms, beautiful view of cliffs and lovely chapel.

This is a fine museum and is within a healthy walking distance from the center of Bayeux. The film presentation is excellent and a good starting point to gain an understanding of the whole picture of the Normandy invasion of 1944. It's focus however is over-whelmingly American and perhaps that was the reality of the event. As a Canadian who... More

Hardly any information on display regarding the D-Day landings/Pegasus Bridge. Staff not knowledgeable at all regarding this topic.

Let's face it, everything we explored during our visit to the Normandy area, particularly related to WW2, was moving, well presented and worth the time/effort.
