This small room is lined with photos and examples of exquisite bobbin lace. There were 4 ladies seated around the room working on projects. Each was happy to show their work, explaining was more difficult as they spoke only French. I speak a bit of...More

Charming lace museum next to the Cathedral. When we looked in there were several women working on, to me, complicated lace patterns. Very interesting to see how it's done and to appreciate the skill and patience it takes to do it. Doesn't take long to...More

They do not speak English here. Small shop with five or six ladies making lace with bobbins. Pictures on the wall show exquisite lace patterns used by designers in clothing.

The Lace Conservatory is actually a storefront in a historic building across the street from the cathedral. There were three women working at small tables, each making a different lace design. It is truly amazing to watch them work; I have never seen anything so...More

This is a small representation of the area's lace production. At one time, lace made the region famous. There were 3 women the day I visited. No one spoke English, and as a typical American, I barely speak American, so no information was exchanged. One...More

Waited for reopening after lunch closure...entered and was barely acknowledged by woman sitting in corner...looked around the large room with examples of lace. I went over to where the employee was sitting and looking at threads. Thinking she would begin a demonstration, I waited observing...More
