it is must place to visit if you are in Caen althought there isn't many left to see, few buildings remain undamaged. it is free to walk around the grounds and on the remparts where the view of the city center is amazing!!

Caen suffered terrible devastation in World War II leaving few buildings undamaged but it is still worth a visit for the intertwined history of France and England that began with William the Conqueror from this very Chateau.
An interesting site with some good exhibits but there isn’t much left to see. There are some decent parts intact but the vast majority is inaccessible. The view towards the town is ok but you can’t see very much because of the vegetation.
