Great piece of Engineering

Travelled over Le Pont de Normandie in Aug 2016. No real hold ups given the amount of traffic using it.

It's one of those bridges you will remember passing, amongst ones like Oresund bridge. It's aesthetically very pleasing, the ride itself was smooth on a Saturday morning.

Crossing this fabulous bridge for the first time is both thrilling and daunting. From afar it is a spectacular arched carriageway. Up close it is a steep and exciting climb. Its daunting because you want to look but have to focus on the climb and staying in your lane. Be prepared for the toll and then get off the highway... More

Beautiful bridge...no backups...smooth sailing. Much smaller than the Ravenel in Charleston & the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan.

Always a marvel to look at, both up and across. There is a toll to be paid, 3 euros or so, credit cards in several lanes, cash in others. We did happen to sail under it as well. Several boats sail from the harbor, thru the lock, and up the Seine under the bridge, turn and come back, 10 euros... More

An amazing bridge which you drive over if travelling along the autoroute along the Normandy coast. You have to pay both ways (5.4 Euros) but a great experience. You can divert to further down the Seine if you don't want to pay. The view from Honfleur from which you can see the whole thing is great.

Tall, long slim like the model from the Vogue. Clean lines, simply elegant from all sides. It is worse to spend few minutes, go out from motorway and take a look in detail.

Crossed it twice - expensive but worth it. In the fog it can be sort of spooky. On a clear day, the views of the oncoming support towers are just amazing.

Take the chance to stop before the bridge and admire the engineering of this beautiful bridge. On a day with low wind, go for a climb up and enjoy the views on the harbor of Le Havre. Recommended.

My expectations of this masterpiece of engineering were not met with disappointment. The views from the crest are stunning, unless you are there when it is foggy! The span is colossal and the deck height is lofty. France has a right to be proud of its achievements. The toll could be considered by some as a bit hefty, if memory... More
