Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The street is away from the centre of Rouen. It is lined with old buildings and interesting architecture. A small waterway runs along one side of the street and it has little bridges all along it. There are many small, reasonably priced restaurants and it is here that you will find La Rocher, an informal restaurant that specialises in mussels. It is a street that is quite busy during the day but, it really comes into it's own in the evening when it is full of locals socialising.

We stayed in a gite or apartment while in Rouen for three weeks, and one of the best things about it was its location on Rue Eau de Robec. One of the city's quirkiest unusual small museums (in a city full of great small museums) is right there, the National Education Museum.
But what Rue Eau de Robec is best known for are the many cafes that spill into the street itself, a pedestrian-only zone, for lunch and dinner. We ate at several of these while we were there and developed our favorites. It was so nice to just amble down the street and find such high quality food in an atmosphere that was not too hectic, just festive enough.
And it doesn't hurt that the little creek that runs down one side of the street and the many half-timbered houses make this one of the most romantic streets in a city full of them.

This is the water street.because there is a very shallow canal that runs the length of the street. I really was not overly impressed with this street. I was actually a bit disappointed given previous reviews and photos of the area. There are some restaurants along the way. The canal looked filthy and filled with algae. I did like the timber framed buildings that line this street, likely the only reason to make a visit. My next visit to Rouen, I would not visit this street again.

Water Street it was on our visit, it never stopped raining for the entire day. It is a quaint street, with several restaurants almost all of which were closed on our first night and none of which were open on our 2nd night. Disappointing.

Walking the Rue Eau de Robec makes you feel like you are in a small village rather than a major city like Rouen. Great restaurants/cafes, picturesque half timbered buildings, flowers, a stream embedded in the curb and no cars. What a find! Just a 10 minute walk up the Rue de la République from the Seine. Do it.

Lovely little area, just a stroll on a nice day, like the rest of the town. Go when the shops are open though, more of a buzz.

This quaint little street is a must see on a trip to Rouen. A little waterway flows down one side of the street adding to the charm. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from ( a really good looking noodle bar full of French people) but it's worth going just to see the very old buildings. Very peaceful too as its away from the really touristy bits by the Cathedral and the Gros Horloge.

Rue Eau de robec, Place du Vieux-Marche, Rue Saint-Romain, Place de l'Aitre de St. Maclou are all beautiful little streets in Rouen one should wander. There are ample places to sit and enjoy a meal, drink some cafe and enjoy a crepe.
