Highest castle in France

Marqise in person was our guide. Castle is like a small city in side the walls with theater, different romms for dancing and dinner. Museum preserved rooms and nice tasting cellar.

This is a lovely example of a chateau in the Loire valley. Well worth a visit as both the house and gardens are quite beautiful.

We were staying in Brissac and visited the chateaux. It was a guided tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke a bit of english. We visited the garden as well. Value for money was good. The downside is the cafe shuts atblunchtime until 2 so if you have a late visit forget about lunch there. They gave a laminated... More

The chateau de brissac is one of the chateau DE LA Loire and the tallest in France. It is an impressive architecture. Although there are other chateaux as impressive as this one in the outside, in my opinion the interiots of chateau de brissac are outstanding. The chateau exposes a colection of exquisit furniture and tapestry difficult to find enywhere... More

Brissac is an interesting historic place located in a quiet Brittany town. The castle looks a bit odd, as if a newer building -whose facades look more as a palace than a castle- had been set upon a former structure, being the tallest castle in France. The ticket will set you back 5 euros if you want to see the... More

Visited 'the tallest castle in France' whilst staying in the very nearby Aire in our campervan. Can't remember the specific price for the tour but it wasn't extortionate. There is a tea room as you enter. The tour in English was full of detail and really interesting. The guide spoke very good English. There was lots to see and the... More

Loved this lace, partially built chateau in a partially demolished castle. Guided tour in French, but English (and other) cheat sheet provided. Worth it for the exterior and interior. Also good gardens, wine tasting and cafe. Bike parking inside the grounds.

A more well kept and interesting chateau you'd be hard to find. Set in landscaped grounds, complete with underground stream Chateau Brissac is a wonderful place. The guide was an excellent tour host which made the visit even more enjoyable.

What a beautiful chateau. Well worth visiting Set in stunning grounds. Reasonable fee to enter or just to walk round the beautiful garden. The village is also quaint and well worth a visit.
