Having arrived at the chateau at 10.30 am, we were just in time to enjoy the services of a very well informed guide, which was well worth having as she spoke excellent English and was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The chateau has a very interesting history,...More

It feels wrong to only give an average rating to such an imposing building, however with so many other wonderful chateaus in this part of France I feel there are more interesting ones to visit. The chateau occupies a fantastic lofty position overlooking the Loire...More

Great views over Saumur, nice to visit for an hour or two but was undergoing some extensive restorations when I visited.
