You almost need to see it to appreciate the uniqueness of the terrain. Flat, really flat. Wetlands, farm land, pastures, beautiful white horses, bulls with long horns and birds. Especially flamingos; literally hundreds of them. Starting south of Arles, much of the land is part of the Parc Naturale. From there to the Mediterranean you encounter this magnificent landscape. You... More

Unless you know the Wash or Walton on the Naze in England this is a new landscape, flat flat! White horses, Bulls, flamingoes all abound, the sky is very big and it can be windy but well worth the visit. July and August can be very crowded.

At the Tourism Office in Arles we reviewed our options for visiting the Camargue as we were traveling in France by train and didn't want to rent a car. Among the options were bus, horseback, bicycle, hiking and 4x4. We chose one of the two companies offering a 4x4 and are glad we did. The horseback, bicycle and hiking options... More

The camargue is a huge natural site to visit by car, by boat and even ride bikes. If you plan visiting it take your time to stop at observation posts, walk around and take a boat trip. This way you'll be able to appreciate the richness of this magnificent area.

We wanted to drive through casually and get out and walk a bit, but not do anything elaborate like horseback riding. On that level, it was beautiful and enjoyable, but not a highlight of the vacation. The wildlife we saw was mainly birds (no wild horses running through the marshes!). What made it worthwhile was the Parc Ornithologique de Pont... More

Being a lover of nature, this park was high on my list when we visited southern France. It was wonderful to see flamingos in their natural habitat and not in a zoo! We also saw many other types of birds, the white horses and the black bulls of The Camargue. There are overlooks along the drive through The Camargue, but... More

It was the first day's visit of a trip alla through France. It's a fantastic place as all the entire area is. You can breathe the nature and the possibility to rent a bike to go throught the regional park is surely a valuable asset. Suggest to ride untill u like and do not try to reach the beackon, because... More

This area is fascinating to visit, to walk around and look at the wildlife. Where else in Europe could you see rice growing, wild white horses and black bulls. It really feels like the edge of Europe and the verge of another world.

This place was peaceful apart from a couple of school groups. There were two circular walks of about 4.5 and 2 kilometres. We did them both. The area was full of flamingos, wading birds, herons, storks, avocets. There were hides for viewing and some elevated areas. A little beaver crossed our path and we saw another swimming. White horses chilling... More

I have seen some negative post about this national park , they can't be more wrong . We hired some push bikes today and went for a ride out along the beach into the national park it was a really amazing wetland so peaceful and quite , we found different flocks of Flamingo's in different ponds and lots of other...
