I think Aix-en-Provence is quite an underrated city but I guess that's what makes it perfect (less people) We love the walk up to Painters Park. We did not really know what to expect at the time or where to go, but we just followed the signs along the way. The garden is beautiful, clean, peaceful and the view is... More

A good site to visit. The Park also has many reproductions of Cezanne's paintings. The view of Cezanne's beloved Montagne Sainte Victorie is excellent.

Worth a visit. The view is lovely and there is some interesting info about Cezanne. It is a bit slippery if you walk down though

After Cezanne's studio, walk up the hill (as he did daily) to this corner where he painted every day overlooking the city and the mountain. There are some samples of his paintings with introductions here so you can compare his paintings to the views you are seeing. Great walk.

Nice, clean park about 1km north of Atelier Cezanne. Definitely worth the hike up to it. We were the only people in the park, surprisingly. It provides excellent views of Mt Ste Victoire and the landscaping/foliage are kept up well

Absolute beauty! Walk up to it! Astonishing view on mountain on a nice day! Colors in Provence are somehow stronger on such clear days, and you can see why all the great painters stayed in this region-specially Cezanne, painting mountain on so much occasion! Just enjoy the view and smell and color. In summer take some water with you!

It is well worth making the effort to walk further up the road from Cezanne's studio to the Terrain des Peintures. From this location you get excellent views of the peak, Mont-Ste-Victoire, which featured in many of his paintings. It is a peaceful location that is nice to linger in and few tourists bother to go this far up the... More
