You can spend a couple of hours easily touring through the site. Having the headphones and tablet made it really easy and interesting. A great afternoon.

One of our first stops on our vacation and a wonderful place to start! Rich in history of the Catholic Church during a 100 year residency in France. Architectural examples of beauty and power within this walled city!

Grand place with a lot of history.. The histopad significantly adds to the experience. With it you can walk around and listen to a guide (location triggered), enjoy period music characteristic of those times, toggle info blurbs as you wish (overlaid on the ruins) and...More

We booked online, which seemed to save a bit of a queue, and the morning 9-11am seemed better than it seemed later on. Apart from the guided tours, all visitors get headphones and a tablet, which is great for the kids in particular. It shows...More

Brilliant. Huge rooms brought to life by the tablet and headphones provided. You hold the tablet up and see how it looked all those centuries ago, decorated and furnished. Well maintained, lots to see, nicely organised.

Is there anything worse than crossing the ocean to see great art and architecture, only to have it obscured by hoards of tourists taking selfies in front of it? Yes! Histopads! That's the French name for tablets that provide pictures of and commentary (in your...More

I spent the morning wandering the Popes Palace in Avignon. A senior ticket for both the bridge and palace appreciated, it included the earphones and audio commentary. There were a lot of stairs but even with a walking stick, manageable at a slow pace. Probably...More

Something not to miss, nice palace, quite big and the ipad tour is great way to see all. Ticket in combination with the bridge nearby was 14,5 euro, outside of the palace and a bit to side you should walk up for a great view....More

Well organized for tourists. Audio guide sophisticated but a bit buggy. The French Revolution and ensuing anti-clerical activities which have largely emptied French churches hit the palais-des-papes with a vengeance. It was stripped of art, used as a prison, then a barracks, all but wrecked...More

We spent about 3 hours at the Palais des Papes. All the rooms you visit are bare, but on entry you pick up a tablet which guides you through the tour and provides an "augmented reality" trip. As you enter the each room you get...More

Easy. You would get near the Pont d Avignon and if you go to the bridge information shop you can buy a ticket to go on the bridge and straight into the Palais. Enjoy.
