Walk this main drag or find a bench and people watch or shop, or eat or do nothing at all! In terms of the 1960s this place is a happenin' and you will want to be part of it. Google it, look at the pictures and say to yourself, "if I'm in a city, what could be better than this?"... More

This is a rather modern high street for shopping with many different stores and small shops and cafes. Even a McDonalds. The shops are modern, but if you go a block or two away you can see some of the old more stylist and excellent shops as well. Worth a stroll during the day. Some interesting architecture of the buildings... More

This is the main street in the old walled city of Avignon. There are plenty of shops & places to eat & it is a neat place to take a stroll.

Rue de la Republic is the main street in the old walled city. It is lovely to walk through with shops, cafes & bakerys . You will also pass the tourist office on your walk so stop in and obtain city map listing 3 local walks in the area which are very interesting and a must see. At the end... More

This street was teeming with people walking up and down (18 Sept 2016 was a free day to enter all museums & public buildings in Avignon, so plenty of people around). There are plenty of cafes and shops to explore in this street.

This is the main street of Avignon. We visited it many times as the tourist information centre is on the street. I was looking for a particular shop for which I had the street number from the web- neither the numbers were clear most of the way, nor could i locate the shop despite going up and down twice. This... More

This is Avignon's main street close to the tourist main attractions (Palais des Papes, Place d'Horlage) where you will find so many restaurants / cafe and some shopping. Avignon is a larger city in Provence and out of all the places we visited, we could have done without seeing it.

Main shopping street in town, long, alive and filled of tourists and locals. If you are really need to make a shopping - go there. Unfortunately the stores are closed just after 6 pm, but the restaurants and cafe are open. We used this street to packed sandwiches before a trip to the surrounding area of the city and bought... The main street in the city center. Full of shops and restaurants. It goes from the main entrance of the city to the Pope's palace.
