Perfect - but
Jul 2019 • Couples
Lovely winery and great wines. Just know the main winery is not open at weekends? But, we met Alex today at the tasting room and he more than made up for our disappointment - he was a total delight and shared lots of information with us about this awesome vineyard and the chateau Neuf de Papes region as a whole. Once we’d looked around the tasting room we tried two whites and two reds and each was really excellent - Alex gave us the importers name in NY so we can order some when we get back stateside. We can some fun photos before we left and purchased a lovely logo box set of two wines.

Thanks Alex - you represent this winery with great esteem and a lovely way of making guests feel welcome!

Loved the wine tasting
Aug 2018 • Friends
Chateau Mont Redon had an amazing tasting, the tour guide really took his time to show us the wines. We had a great time visiting this winery, especially given the fact that there was no obligation to buy anything. We tasted and ended up purchasing what we loved/what was available to purchase. Best winery I’ve tried (a few) in the area.

Beautiful vineyard, great wine and warm welcome

We visited the beautiful vineyard today and had Lucas talk us through a wine tasting. He was a brilliant host, very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a few wines to try. The wine itself was excellent and we are looking forward to buying a few bottles when we return to the UK.

Wonderful location, great service, lovely wine
Aug 2018 • Couples
My family come here for wine every couple of years when we're on holiday and it's always great. This time the service was particularly good. The man's English was perfect and he was very knowledgeable as you'd expect. We bought some wine and had a little tour of the cellar. A great way to while away a couple of hours. They also recommended a lovely restaurant in town. Thanks Mont Redon!!

Group tour and tasting
Jun 2018 • Friends
We had a special group tour and wine tasting at this gorgeous vineyard. Our tour guide was a great grand daughter of the original owner. It is a family run vineyard that has multiple red, rose, and white wines. There is even a special Pope wine that was created to honor the Pope when his palace was in Avignon. Wonderful facilities and great prices on the wine!

Myself and my boyfriend took a last minute trip here on our drive from Lyon to Marseille and what a great experience it was. Our host Alex was very welcoming and helpful and we got to taste some delicious wines. Would highly recommend.

Welcoming staff and a good variety of wines from both inside and outside the AOC. Good opening hours and lots of free parking.

Beautiful location and warm reception

I have been coming here for 15 years and have always experienced a warm reception coupled with excellent wines. Their Lirac is an affordable gem that deserves more attention. Eric and Alex are knowledgeable and charming hosts. The chateau itself is in a beautiful location, and is one of my first and last stops on my trips every few months.

Excellent Tasting and Affordable Wines
Oct 2017 • Couples
Our B&B host recommended a visit and we are glad they did. We are not wine snobs and enjoyed tasting and buying some very nice wines here. Our tasting host was very gracious and instructive on the various vintages, which we enjoyed.

Incredibly rude, obnoxious and condescending
Sep 2017 • Couples
We visited Chateau Mont-Redon on the back of positive Tripadvisor and Lonely Planet comments. The property is in a beautiful setting, a few minutes drive outside Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The wine-tasting room was dark with doors locked when we visited even though the opening hours posted suggested that it was open. Just as we were about to leave, the door was opened. We inquired if it was possible to have a wine-tasting and were brought inside by a middle-aged man who was surly and uncommunicative. Wines were poured without any comment or information, apart from their vintage. Questions were met with complete disdain and contempt. We asked if they produced a white Chateauneuf-du-Pape as we knew that only 5-7% of wine produced in the area is white. The response we got was ...what is a white wine? Other questions were met with silence or patronising answers.

I would strongly urge travellers to avoid Chateau Mont-Redon as our experience suggests they have nothing but contempt for tourists. Avoid at all costs.
