Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was disappointed when I came across this site – I had thought I would be able to go inside and see some kind of museum, but all I could see was an impressive spiked door and a decorative mask behind a grill above it. There was a plaque next to it explaining (in French) its historic significance, but that’s about all.
This building is the old watchtower for defence of the old town. It is said that the Man in the Iron Mask escaped from detention on nearby Isle de Sainte Marguerite and sought refuge here, where he eventually died. His ghost is supposed to haunt the tower.

I expected something more given the story/legend, but there is a very simple door. I tried to look inside but there is only rubble. Too bad.
