Seeing some sculptures as well as many of the working drawing for his work was interesting. It is a nice little museum, but not as extensive as we had imagined. It is easy to get to by local bus and worth it if you already have a 48 hour entrance to the museums and galleries, such as the contemporary gallery.

Third time I visited this museum. The building itself and the park is a very nice place to visit. And the art of Matisse is always worth going to see

A lovely collection of pieces from all parts of Matisse's life. You could really see the change in styles from his influences from the Impressionists (Monet, Seurat, etc.) up to his own characteristic style. I especially liked his designs for a church and the reconstruction of a room made to look like a swimming pool.

Anyone at all interested in Matisse will find this visit rewarding. The artist came here at the end of World War One and decided to move mere permanently, so the exhibition naturally concentrates on Matisse's later life. As well as paintings, there are sculptures, ceramics, stained glass and a swimming pool wall!

A beautiful building easily reachable by bus, but not enough Matisse works to make the place unmissable. High hopes are likely to be disappointed.

Display includes many of artist earliest works and progressing toward his mature style, which is not so well represented

This is a good museum and worth the visit. Not inexpensive but a must to do in Nice. Take your time, about 2 hours at least and you will be we'll satisfied.
