    Relaxing coast line
Great to walk by the seafront- only short distance from the old town and marche des fleurs. Plenty bars and restaurants where one can while away the time. Just enjoying a drink and watch the trails of expensive cars passing by, very relaxing. Further along the road is the marina where one can take the cruise boat to Cannes. Simply beautiful place to unwind.

    Promenade des Anglais
The Promenade des Anglais meaning "Walkway of the English" is a promenade along the Mediterranean coast of Nice and extends from the airport on the west to the Quai des États-Unis ("United States Quay") on the east, for a distance of approximately 7 km (4.35 miles).Walking along scenic Promenade des Anglais beginning from Le Negresco hotel came across early morning joggers as well as a few swimmers in the early morning chill Mediterranean sea. The long strip of the beach stretching across the Promenade des Anglais had a few private beaches with chairs and umbrella's which included the private beach of iconic landmark Le Negresco hotel. For the local inhabitants, the Promenade des Anglais has simply become the Promenade or, for short, La Prom. It is popular with bicyclists, baby strollers, and families, especially on Sundays and has also become a favorite place for skateboarders and in-line skaters.

    Promenade des Anglais
You can walk for quite a while here on this long, long promenade, with the Mediterranean on one side and the stores, hotels, restaurants, museums beckoning on the other side. They have many benches where you can take a break and just relax and wonder why people would want to lay down on a beach completely composed of rocks. If you can sneak in, check out the classic Le Negresco Hotel. It’s an oldie, but a goodie, with some wild newer additions to the ornate original ornamentation inside. On a glorious day with a gorgeous cloudless blue sky, as we experienced, it doesn’t get much better. Despite, it being March, it wasn’t too cold, either. And we got there just before the high season started and it was pleasant because there weren’t the hordes of tourists that jam pack the entire city, particularly the promenade. We hit it just right.

Rocky beach but great place for a jog
Large promenade for over 2 miles. Lots of people walking, jogging, sitting. A few who appeared to be homeless sleeping on a bench but for the most part a huge melting pot of folks just exercising or seeing the sights. The beach is all rocks…..no sand whatsoever, so be prepared.

    Postcard beauty
Stony beach right at the edge of the city. Well worth walking in the blazing heat, long enough so that if you continue to walk you can find areas that aren’t crowded. Or take the local bus along the water.

    Fantastic area but avoid restaurants
A fantastic area with everything whenever you visit Nice. Enjoy walking around, taking a swim, stay at the public beaches or one of the beach clubs where you get a sunbed etc. For dinner and drinks, you get more value for money, better food and more choices a few blocks away. Around Blvd Victor Hugo you have several nice and great restaurants in great surroundings. Don't forget bathing shoes for your swim.

The place to be in the evening
Promenade is very good to walk along during the day and night. During day lots of people walking enjoying the views and atmosphere of the promenade, locals mix with the tourist to ensure it’s a busy area. During the night atmosphere ramps up with people dining in the many restaurants opposite the water, then walking of dinner walking along Promenade, for me night time was the best time along Promenade.

    Beautiful Promenade
Walked and also cycled this promenade. Lovely and flat (except at Castle on the Hill end). Tried to hire the Velo bikes that are dotted around but wasnt able to get instructions in English. Ended up hiring bikes from local bike shop. Great way to see all the promenade. The beach is pebbled but we purchased swim shoes and were able to walk comfortably into the sea. The sea is gorgeous. I have never seen the sea with so many shades of blue.

    Nice walk along the beach.
This is a wide walkway about 4 miles long along the shore, fun to walk and enjoy the ocean view. It was busy but not overwhelming. Throughout the day there were people exercising (running, skating, or bicycling along the designated fast path). Many areas for sitting available as well, some with shade. People wearing pretty much anything: pants, shorts, dresses, t-shirts, tank tops, sneakers, flip flops, etc. The beaches are rocky but we knew that before going so brought water shoes which worked great. Our Airbnb had chairs, umbrellas and bamboo matts which also helped. You have to stack the rocks to hold the umbrella in place, but avoid if windy (some umbrellas went flying & almost injured people). There were a few areas that smelled of urine but overall it seemed pretty well kept. Lifeguards present. Open showers available to rinse off after swimming. One stand selling basic beach stuff like flip flops & umbrellas. A couple of guys were walking along the beach selling water & beer. The water was cool, refreshing and such a beautiful blue it didn’t seem real!

Blue chairs, blue sea, blue sky
Fabulous to stroll and admire whatever you spot on the way. We joined at the port end and continued way past the Negresco hotel , stopping to admire the beautiful views and watch the water sports . Enough to make for a pleasant atmosphere without being crowded, it’s popular late into the evening , and felt very safe.

Definitely a must do spot. Very broad and well done walk with the ocean on one side and restaurants on the other. One big drawback is the total lack of public toilets. In the whole promenade stretch there was one sign for toilets but when you get there there are no signs of a toilet. I am quite surprised this being a big tourist spot.

Promenade des Anglais is a good spot to take a walk, although it can feel a little opporessive in the beating sun as it is somewhat without shade!

We’ve walked the length and breadth of the promenade many times and this time we were up at the end near the old town, enjoying the views back along the beach right to the airport miles away.
Looking over the wall we saw countless brown as a berry people soaking up the rays. They must be determined to get that sun tan, as it’s all cobbles there.

The seven kilometres of Promenade des Anglais provides opportunity for a relaxed yet exhilarating stroll or cycle ride, along the beautiful seafront, with marvellous views of the azure-blue Mediterranean.

The Promenade also offers easy access to the quaint Old Town, or to major tourist attractions such as the Nice Opera House (fronted by a miniature of the Statue of Liberty), the Massena Museum, or the Museum of Fine Arts. And, of course, delightful coffee and croissants are on offer from the numerous nearby cafes and bistros.

Beautiful, very clean beach. It's a lovely walk with pebbles on the beach, lots of beautiful buildings on the other side and the castle hill at the far end. Lots of chairs and benches to sit and marvel at the water. Lovely to watch the planes fly by.

The best stroll in town as you can enjoy the expansive beach, often full of sun bathers, plus the grand architecture of the big hotels that line the sea. This promenade stretches for a long distance, so be prepared for good exercise. Not much shade, is very hot in the summer.

You can not go to Nice without taking a walk down the Promenade des Anglais. That would be like missing the Eiffel tower in Paris.
It is a lovely walk along the sea and if you feel like it there are plenty of waterholes where you can stop and refuel, if that is food or drinks. Expect lots of people with the same mission, but it is really beautiful - especially the sunset

The farmer’s market cours Saleya is outstanding. Stalls of local vegetables and fruit. 20 different kinds of olives and inviting cafés to enjoy a morning café au lait and fresh croissants
