Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We drove from St Tropez through San Raphael. As others have said, the red rocks in contrast to the blue sky and very blue ocean is gorgeous. Each turn brought yet another incredible view.

A decent but not too hard walk takes you to the top of the hill, from which you have a view of both the sea (with the Ile d'Or) and inland (with the Esterelle mountains in the background).

DRAMONT IN THE ESTÉREL MASSIF IN SAINT-RAPHAËL Facing the Ile d'Or, very close to Saint-Raphaël and Agay, there is a very nice hike, that of Cap Dramont in the Estérel massif. It is a natural space, particularly preserved and with exceptional flora. Its beach was used for the landing of the Allies in Provence during the Second World War and the cape, which rises to 200m above sea level.

Spent at least 30 holidays in Fréjus and had never discovered this beautiful spot before. Shame on me and ‘hurray’ for clever tips like these that one gets from colleagues.

When driving from St Raphaël, turn right at the ‘Tiki Plage’ sign in ‘le Dramont.’
Drive until the end of a small road called ‘rue Lm Robinson’ where you’ll find a car park.

Walk round the cliff and enjoy the best of what nature has in store for all of us.

Go during daylight only as you don’t want to fall down from here!

End up your walk in the cosy ‘port du Poussaï’ where you can admire ‘l’île d’Or’ (said to be the inspiration for Tintin’s ‘l’Île Noir.’)

The red rocks contrasted with the blue sea, although it was cloudybut the scenery was excellent. The track is not well signed and rises some 150 meters but well worth the effort. Take the Number 8 bus from Saint Raphael (behind the train station) and get off at Camp Long. Walk a 100 meters and turn right at Robinson Street and walk to the car park and then essentially follow the coast around to Le Dramont. It will take about two hours. You can catch the bus or the train back to St Raphael. There are blue arrows and a small yellow sign that shows the way, (sometimes) but follow your nose and look at the small map oat the entrance.

Had a great walk from the car park, just by the beach, past the marina and then steadily up the hill, past the Semaphore building to the top - where there are great views looking west to Saint-Raphael and beyond and to the east, in the direction of Cannes and Nice. The walk was about 6km long (5km if you do the simple round trip), along decent paths. Although the walk is rated as easy, and it is, it does go up over 100m, so those who puff a bit climbing will need to take it at their own pace.

This beach is wonderful! Firstly , the only negative, it's a pebble beach so it may put some people off, it can be a bit tricky to get into the sea because of these pebble so you will need beach shoes.
Between the car park and pebbles there is lots of shaded areas in the pine forest and plenty of space on coarse sand to play bat and ball etc.
Now all the best things. Large, free car park, life guards on the beach, water sports ( paddle boards, water bikes, canoes, nothing to disturb the peace!) in their own area, crystal clear water, lots of fish to see when snorkelling, even in the shallow water, refreshments available, restaurant, a lovely forest walk, a little harbour with another cafe just 5 minutes walk away, and the views of Dramont itself.

Even during the vacations in July - or maybe especially in July? - very few people with us in the cap. Beautiful views. Blue sea, rough red rocks below and above. A bit sporting, take a lot of water. One has to pay attention if the county Var closed the forests on account of fire risks.

Sadly, we could only see half the cap until the kids rebelled. But that was already worth the time driving there in the ever-present traffic jam on the coast.

By the way, the coastal drive there between Cannes and Cap Dramont has numerous spectacular vistas, too.

Awesome walk in the south of France near Saint Raphaël during a marvelous autumn day with my wife.
A beautiful landscape between the deep blue of sea, the intense and flashing red of the rocks, the peaceful green of trees and the light blue from the skies above........
Easy walk at sunset. It will take you just a couple of hours to make it through the Esterel from the "camp long" beach to the cute harbor of "Poussaï" and back.

We visited the Dramont beach area in August - it was very hot and sunny - but the beach has sufficient cover if you don't want to sit out. Also there is a couple of beach bars/cafes for lunch and snacks - along with the normal beach sellers.

You get great views out across the bay towards St Tropez and also to Ile D'Or just offshore!

There are also a number of activities including kayaking and paddle boarding available on the beach which are good value!

Well worth a visit as the beach is a little bigger than the other coves locally therefore you can walk and explore more!

Finally... There is a large car park there, which, if busy you can park on the road
