We left the Palais du Pharo and meandered through the streets to find the long staircase leading up to Notre Dame de la Gard. I didn't count the stairs, but the views along the way and at the top were fantastic. Of course, there's an...More

For some it can be a tough walk going up here, but it is worth it. (Of course you can go by car as well :-) ) Up here you have a nice church to visit, but even better you have a really nice view...More

Ok, I have to admit it can be a bit tiring to get up there by walk, but it's most definitely worth it, and also you have the option to get there by bus. The church itself is beautiful on the inside and breathtaking on...More

Very nice church. Based on more levels. It's a good exercise to get there. And the view from the surrounding terrace is astonishing.

What an adventure. Walked up from Paroh. Google Maps and broken French questions, 4 dead ends. Then a stairway to heaven. Stopping to rest... I mean, of course, to see the scenery.... let the view slowly unfold. Wow. Or, rather, WOW!

My wife and I wholeheartedly agree with the reviewer who said this church lacks a sense of dignity. The interior is very flashy, but it's hard to imagine anyone actually praying there. And indeed, the whole place is set up like a theme park attraction,...More

This was the one must see for our staff in Marseille. As a keen photographer, I knew this was a must visit and with google maps saying it is a 20 minute walk, we decide to have a 'stroll' up. Big mistake, it may be...More

This is a relatively new church, having been built in the 1860s, but I famous today for being a votive center. That is, if you survived a shipwreck or illness, you donate a painting or model showing how the Virgin saved you (and likely a...More

This beautiful church has become a top attraction in Marsaille. The location gives it a bird's eye view of the harbor below with it's bustling fish market. We arrived by Segway and rode to the entrance of the site, while others arriving by tour bus...More

Yes, you can drive all the way to the building. On the way up you will see a few levels of parking, just continue to the bldg unless you are in yhe mood for a steep hike.

We saw a lot of coaches for organised tours. Not sure how close parking is for cars as we visited using e-bikes which was great fun and so much easier than walking! Enjoy.
