Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just a short bus ride to the tram followed by a moderate day hike to the lake. Great vista! Recommend getting the Multi Pass to cover the bus and tram fees. Easy to do the Aiguille du Midi in the AM and Lac Blanc in the PM.

Went with family - kids 11 14 and 16

Took early cable car around 8.30 and it was around 1 hour 20 mins to the lake including water stops

Beautiful views of mont blanc and the lake area itself is lovely. We went away from the chalet and sat on hill overlooking the second lake so were away from most people and enjoyed our picnic

As walking back the lake was getting busy as was the path up

Great family morning activity

The téléphérique takes you to the starting point of the hike from La Flégère and it costs EUR 20 to go and come back. This is almost an easy hike which in 1hour and 45 minutes takes you to the beautiful Lac Blanc. It is a bit crowded during the weekend as it is a very popular destination. So, in case you can, have this hike during week-days.

The lake once you arrive is absolutely stunning on a summers day. However, it is a challenging walk from the cable car and numerous people were struggling. You need to wake up EARLY!! Out of the heat as much as possible. It is a very long steep climb and technical
Underfoot. My kids walk Ben Nevis / snowdon etc and even they found this tough!!
The view however is worth the pain!!!
Please note, no Toilets at the lake and it’s around a 3/4 hrs round trip!!!

Pretty, but not quite as clear or blue as photos one sees. One end is a man-made dam and structure so hard to get those out of photos as well.

Took the cable to l'index and walked to the lake from there - excellent hike. A little disappointed that the cafe on top was closed 1130-1200 and you guessed it we arrived at 1130.

The hike up from the gondola is beautiful and not too hard. Get up early as the crowd show up by about 10am. Sublime piece of this beautiful valley - must see. Hike back to col de montet and see beautiful wild life in the reserve.

This is a wonderful hike with stunning mountain views along the entire route, but its all uphill (not too steep though) for about 1.5-2 hours (from the mid station) to reach the lake. Path is very well maintained and sign posted and there are no dangerous or scary parts so its suitable for children. Its very very busy though. There is a snack bar at the top serving light lunch, cakes and hot drinks (cash only). Best on a clear day.

You have to hike up there we took one lift and hiked the rest of it. We have a good condition so we didn’t need as much time as the signs said. The view was great. We spent an hour around the lake, all to enjoy the view. Afterwards we hiked a bit down to a smaller lake which you can see from Lake Blanc. Took the same route back to the lift because we couldn’t hike from Lac Blanc to L’Index because of snow and were not trained hikers. When we were back at the lifts we had lunch (fine prices) and hiked up to L’Index. That was a tough one to hike up. But so worth the view! If you’re condition is not that great, I’d suggest to take the lift to L’Index and only hike down.
