Trekking & snowshoeing walks in the Chamonix valley and beyond. We can organise anything from a half-day snowshoe hike in the winter, to a day out walking or mountain biking, to a multi-day trek such as the Tour du Mont Blanc or the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt. Not only are we are Tour du Mont Blanc specialists, but we also do some of the lesser known treks in the area, such as the Tour of the Monte Rosa, the Tour des Combins, Tour des Fiz, Tour des Dents du Midi, Tour des Muverans, and further afield. Whether you need a guided hike, or you'd prefer to be independent, let us do the organising! We can book your accommodation and transport for a self-guided trek. We also offer the Walker's Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, a day out on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, overnight trips to stay in a mountain refuge, and our excellent guides know every corner of the Chamonix valley!

Cloud 9 provides a range of options for nordic skiers to experience the unique Jura mountains. The staff is supportive and makes an effort to tailor the perfect trip for their clients.

Fantastic 6-day walking holiday on the Haute Route from Arolla to Zermatt organised by Cloud 9 Adventure...
Cloud 9's detailed itinerary, together with their great phone app, made navigation along the mountain trails very easy (tip - make sure multiple members in your team has the app and ideally take a lightweight power bank to top up charge in the afternoons).
The hotels/cabins along the route were all great. Nothing too overindulgent, but that's fine as you don't want to be lugging around evening wear in your rucksack. The food ranged from perfectly ok in the Cabane de Moiry to excellent in the Hotel de la Sage and the Hotel Besso in Zinal.
The scenery, helped by great weather all weak, started out spectacular and got better day by day. Notable places: Lac Bleu between Arolla and La Sage, Moiry Glacier, Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge, view of Zermatt and the Matterhorn from the Europaweg trail below the Rothorn.
Hikes: No day was a walk in the park, but some days were definitely tougher than others. The hardest days were La Sage to the Cabane de Moiry (1680m overall ascent, very steep final climb to the cabin), and the final day from Randa to Zermatt via the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge (long day, achy legs by the end, 1st beer lasted about 10 seconds).
Tip: Good boots, wet weather gear, cold weather gear, water vessels, sunscreen, phone and debit/credit cards are all essential. Be economical with the rest though - you can wash stuff in hotel sinks in the evenings. (My mate binned a pair of perfectly good trainers by the 2nd day as they were dead weight). Good rule of thumb - max 10kg rucksack weight excl. water (12 to 12.5kg incl. water).
If you're thinking of doing something like this, stop thinking and just book it!

The Tour du Mont Blanc vacation guided by Cloud 9 adventure was 10/10. It is the most memorable vacation I have enjoyed in my 63 years. We hiked for 8 days . Cloud 9 Adventure (led by Emma Jack) provided our route options every day and selected accommodations for our family of 5 every evening.
We covered more than 90% of the Tour in 8 days . The route descriptions/options/tools were detailed and adequate to allow us to hike without a guide. Cloud 9 assessed our fitness level (by self report) and matched the activities/routes very well. Emma asked lots of questions so that she could create route options that matched our family's goals and capability.
The accommodations were outstanding . The mountain towns /villages that we stayed in at night were breathtakingly beautiful. The Alps.... Witnessing the extraordinary mountains/valleys/rivers/waterfalls/fields/wildflowers was a powerful spiritual experience. We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to spend 9 days in the mountains.
I searched on the web for a company that provided value and expertise. Cloud 9 fit everything we were searching for. You can not find a better team with experience and care for service than Cloud 9. If you are looking for the hiking trip of lifetime, I urge you to look at the web site and send an email to Cloud 9 to learn more about their services for The Tour du Mont Blanc.

A highly competent outfitter company. Worked with us (three families; seven people) to customize the Haute Route package for us. Provided an outstanding guide, booked excellent accommodations, no-glitch transfer and baggage services.
One caveat: this is essentially a one-person company as far as planning/arrangements go, so the communications aren't what you might expect based on your experience with larger outfitters. Patience and trust are essential. We experienced a bit of frustration over that, however, at the end they delivered well beyond our expectations. If I could give them six stars here, I would.

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best company you could choose to plan your Tour du Mont Blanc experience! GPS coordinates, updated trip notes through the trek (including snow conditions, lunch options, etc.), and consistent communication were beyond helpful with our self-guided journey! The communication was unreal as we ran into numerous folks on the hike that did not receive this kind of of information from their booking company. This gave my wife and I peace of mind as we knew we were in great hands! This trek is no joke and Cloud 9 Adventure treated the journey with the respect it deserves. Safety is absolutely a priority for their clients!

We had an amazing day hiking with Jason admiring views of Mont Blanc, the Bionnassay glacier and waterfalls. Jason was knowledgeable about the history and geology of the area, and tailored the hike according to what we wanted to see as well as our physical capacity. We are grateful he brought us on a trail we wouldn’t have known about otherwise! Emma was also a great help with coordination and brainstorming ideas with us in the lead-up to the hike. Highly recommend!

We just fininished a 10 day self-guided Tour du Mont Blanc trek. The service Emma provided us was outstanding. Everything went well and as planned. Trip descriptions, route informations and Emma's recommendations was all provided in the App and hard copy. All we had to do was show up and hike. No worries about booking hotels and transportations. Hotels booked for us were all clean, comfortable with full breakfast. The dinners that some hotels provided was very delicious. I highly recommend Cloud 9 Adventure to anybody.

We just finished a 12 day Mont Blanc tour and with the help of Cloud 9 it was an incredible experience. Our original trip was booked in 2019 and postponed due to Covid. Cloud 9 offered a full refund or the opportunity to continue with no additional cost both years we postponed. Once we finally hit the trail, the accommodations, trip notes and attention to the smallest of details made the tour an outstanding experience for us. I will certainly consider using Cloud 9 again and highly recommend it to anyone wishing to tour Mont Blanc.

I recently finished a self-guided Haute Route trip that Emma Jack planned from start to finish. The trip couldn't have gone any smoother. The trip was originally scheduled for the summer of 2020. Emma and the other group members exchanged over 300 emails over three years. Emma is detailed, responsive, and her experience outdoors and her logistical abilities are without parallel. Emma's detailed trip notes gave us the most up-to-date trail information and made navigation a breeze. She customized the trip based on our interests. She arranged all lodging, taxi services for luggage, and was in regular contact with us on the trail. I definitely couldn't see myself doing a trip like this without expert guidance and I can't recommend Emma Jack highly enough for this task. She went above and beyond in all aspects.

Since I have 3 hours til Geneva, I may as well write my review of our Haute trip:
To Emma Jack(Cloud 9 Adventure):
Words cannot describe the appreciation I and the rest of my group have for You.
This trip has been in the works for almost 3 years and through the Covid epidemic you somehow managed to pull it off. The additions and changes you had to make were remarkable in fitting our needs.
How can an 11 day trip go off without 1 hiccup? It did because of your knowledge, professionalism and extreme dedication to your clients. As one of your
guides(Suze) said: Emma never sleeps!
Every single detail from luggage delivery, hotel accommodations, trip notes, maps, food requests(we had 2 vegetarians) was spot on.
From the bottom of my heart, you made a 25 year dream to hike the Haute come true. It was way beyond my expectations. To do it with friends was even more special.
On any future expeditions, I would never consider another person(or company) to arrange my trip. No wonder Richard Branson so highly recommends you.
To all who read this review, I personally have arranged dozens of trips over the years, but I knew from the start that Emma was the one to arrange this one.

Yes, there's a lot of great hiking in Chamonix in May. I love doing either the Aiguillette des Houches (the Les Houches end of the valley), or perhaps the Aiguillette de Posettes (the Le Tour end of the valley). At the end of May there is usually still a fair bit of snow around, so it's important to choose a hike that won't be dangerous. Just let us know if you'd like to hire a hiking guide for the day. Hello Shriddha, Many thanks for your message. If you'd like a full day private snowshoe guide, the price is £245. If you'd like to join one of our group trips, then we can organise one this Thursday or Friday for £70 for a half-day. Just drop us an email if you'd like to book anything or if you have any questions at all. We include snowshoe hire, avalanche safety kit, and pick-up and drop-off in the price.

Hi there, the price is £245 per day for a guide - and the guide can take up to 12 people (the price is for the guide, not per person!). There are various ways of getting to and from the Lac Blanc: we recommend heading up from either the Col des Montets, or if you want to be more adventurous, taking the ladders from Tré-Le-Champ. Then you can descend via a different route to Argentière, or if you want a shorter day then we can take the Flégère cable car. Factor in an extra 15 euros for a one way ticket.
