I liked the chapel of former monastery as well as gardens. There are plenty of permanent and temporary exhibitions about life and culture of this region. Visit is free!

We didn't have time to walk to the bastille higher on the hill, so opted for a shorter walk (10 minutes or so) up through the charming gardens at the foot of the hill, which lead to this museum. It is housed in an old...More

We have climbed up the hill to this old monastery converted to the museum. We admire the road, the museum itself, the exhibitions and then descend another way back to Italian quarter.

There's something so calming about this place. I love to walk up here and walk around the inside. It's one of the places that haven't been ruined by the current administration.

I did not expect to be so amazed by this museum and its wonderful storytelling of how life was in the alps over hundreds of years. I also very much enjoyed the contemporary exhibit based on music.

The museum has a free entrance. It's a good place to pop into after a walk in Bastille. One of current expositions shows the life of alpine people. It's very informative and it helps to understand better the culture of the Rhone-Alpes region.

Three well thought out exhibitions. Family friendly but also enough cultural insight. English translations would have helped but then it is a local museum.
