Arriving on cable car gives direct access to viewing platform. Various possible activities include eating, wandering around the various parts of the fort, a museum nd a range of walks. Places to sit available. Good displays of history of the cable car.

The "Bastille" is not particularly interesting apart from the beautiful view on Grenoble. You can have a ride on the funicular, which offers you a spectacular descent over Grenoble, even if the ticket is overpriced. That's nice to have a walk on the many trekking routes starting and arriving at Bastille.

This is a fun afternoon activity. Almost half the city walks, runs, or bikes up here on the weekends. At the top there is a museum, cafe, and gift shop. For a better view and less people, keep going up to the memorial.

After a ride up the téléférique, the views from atop the Bastille are wonderful. You can get a great view of Grenoble and the surrounding alps with panels to discuss the history of the Bastille and the city. On a clear day you can see to Mont Blanc in the distance.

Running down for the top of Bastille overlooking Grenoble is a great experience. You might first want to take the cable car to enjoy the view of the mountains surrounding the town, this will take you only 6 mn. Then take a jog down down the main path, it that will lead you to Couvent st Marie d'en haut in less... More

Using the so called "Bubbles" or cable cars is a great ride with a beautiful view. However, for those of you who are more physically fit the walk up is magnificent with a sublime view to literally "top it al off".

perfect 360 view of the city. Even if it was a cloudy day we could still see the beautiful mountains. The Bubble ride was an easy way to go up to the fort.

We walked to the top and caught the bubble down. Amazing views over the city, even on a cloudy winter day. I'm sure there are fantastic views of the mountains on a clear day.

The views from the top are superb over the city and the provide a panoramic of the surrounding mountain ranges. The gondola ride "bubbles" provide an easy way up to to the top, however, the pathway is a better way. You can truly appreciate the work that must have been done to build the fortress. The paths are narrow and... More

We went to the Bastille yesterday - although it was raining a bit- it was still worth it. As it gave an almost 360 degrees view of the city. We also went to the caves behind the viewing area, it was really interesting but need to have proper walking shoes to go down the steps within the cave and have... More
