Nice place all the way up! Look for a nice day without clouds so you can get a nice pic from the city!

Place St Jean with the Cathedral and from there started our ascent of the Fourviere hill. After several stairs we reached the top of the hill and had a beautiful view over the city with a warm, even a bit too hot, sun accompanying us.

We decided to hike up to the Fourviere at night after a particularly heavy Bouchon Lyonnais. It was a beautiful way to see the city lights and the way they lit up the church was stunning. Nighttime exploring is a great way to feel like...More

The view is incredible. Even if the sky is completely clear you can see at the horizon the French Alps.

This is a ‘must do’ in Lyon. It’s a great walk and involves making a few stages at which you can pause. There’s an interesting plaque about a resistance fighter who wa killed near the top. And on the way down, you can visit the...More

The title pretty much says it. Big cathedral at the top, well worth a visit. Big upgrading project in the area, so the restaurant right at the top was closed. Had to walk a few hundred yards downhill to find a restaurant. Easy to reach...More

Take a tour to get up here so you don't miss the history and current state of the area. The cathedral is glorious, particularly the stained glass, and even more so if you are lucky enough to catch a service with the choir singing. The...More

Spectacular views back over Lyon, well worth getting up the hill. The best way we found of visiting was to get the funicular up the hill, but walk down through the gardens directly in front of the basilica near the hill viewpoint.

Sorry we didn't eat up there but you can easily get the funicular down to the old town only takes 10 minutes or so where there are dozens of restaurants!

Same answer as above as it`s quiet steep but if it folds you can fit it on the funicular. Good luck.
