Wonderful area and park. The whole area is full of awesome small vendors, and restaurants. So many small street to noodle around, and adventures to be had!

Another charming area of Lyon, good for strolling and getting in some great walks. Changing quickly, more studios and restaurants now.

Walked from hotel De Ville, walking slowly toward the hill. Many steps, park and merry go around at the top plateau. Many interesting shops, artist loft and tall bygone era apartment buildings. There are many bus lines to take you to the top and take...More

This hillside and hilltop area is terrifically interesting and a lot of fun. If you wander around the main drags you'll find all sorts of interesting shops, theaters and comedy clubs, and mysterious underground alleys. It's a bit of a world unto its own and...More

You'll certainly do a great workout for your legs - it's very hilly. But worth the walk up, via the Terrace steps and done gardens and children's play area. Lovely view across Lyon at the top, under the bridge. Good Algerian restaurant here - La...More

We travelled to Croix Rousse on the Road Train from Hotel de Ville (9 euros per person for 1 hour tour) . Great way to see the area + murals and the market. Glad we didn't walk it - looked exhausting!

I came here with some expectations based on the reviews that I read, but honestly, after visiting the other Lyon areas (Vieux-Lyon, Prequ'île etc.), I was a little disappointed. I can't say anything really negative, but I just felt that it hasn't got much to...More

We came here in the rain to walk from viewpoints over the Rhone to the Saone. You can certainly do this and learn how middle class Lyonnais live. but the exciting experience was the underground cog and ratchet metro ride up a steep slope underground!
