Better off spending an hour on the internet researching PICASSO than going to this!
Nov 2019
Went to the exhibition "IMAGINE PICASSO" and yes you have to imagine him. Not one original work, not one signed print just copies of his work and projections of his work. Yes they've printed off history and facts about the great man but a weak excuse to fill an exhibition space.

Disappointed and feeling conned as you have to pay!

Good news - accessible for wheelchair users (parking a bit problematic though)

This is the 14 th biennale of lyon and la sucrière is a very contemporary installation art
Center.
I don't understand anything, unless I get to be guided and then only, I see what the artist means to say.... there is also a coffee place and a library and honestly , the volumes of la sucrière are just Art enough to give you
A reason to go.

Interesting building

Visited to see biennale. Large old factory used as a venue for art display- some of interest but mostly not to our taste. Not centrally sited but near confluence.

I went there for the first time for Lyon's Biennial Contemporary Art Exhibition, a temporary manifestation made of different exhibitions around the city.
I was surprised by the size of the place, it is installed in an old sugar warehouse. You enter by what seems to be an old silo, and have access to three levels of exhibitions, on around 4000 sq meters. Is it well conceived, since the place is quite dim, you won't get parasite lighting from the outside. Since the place is quite big, you'll need 2h to visit the main exhibitions on your own, but they offer guided tours as well, which can go from 1h to more.
To access it, the S1 bus goes from place Bellecour to here, or if you can walk a bit, the old terminus of T1 tramway (Hotel de région Montrochet) is ~ 7 min away.
