A little difficult to find but well worth the walk towards the edge of the old part of town towards the Rhone / Saone junction. Only a small museum but reminds you of all of the automata displays in shop windows at Christmas with the...More
We were there about 15 minutes and spent 7 euros each to get in. Some cute animated displays of famous paintings - but that was about it for my husband and I. Kids were having fun trying to hunt for various items listed on a...More
An interesting museum with automated models/puppets. Lots of scenes build with the automated puppets. Probably more enjoyed by children but interesting to see all the details that went into the puppets.
The negative reviews of this museum are beyond strange. How people can claim being misled and disappointed when you see exactly what the museum is about in the window displays and in the hall, *before* you pay?
Anyway, great skill, interesting hour to spend. Very...More
I was really excited to see a museum for automatons as I generally find them absolutely fascinating mechanically and impressive and/or beautiful. However this is not the case at all with the ones here. They are extremely extremely basic ones that were made for shop...More

A museum of automatons that were all built on the premises. The automatons all fill scenes whether it is bringing pictures to life, illustrating books or showing life in and around Lyon. Test your knowledge by seeing which scenes you can identify or use the...More

This place is farcical. Calling the mechanised puppets 'automatons' is factually correct but, in truth, they barely qualify for the definition. Each one loops a very simple movement - usually an arm up and down or a head side to side. It's really rubbish this...More
I went to Museum, without any expectation or ambition. It was just a diversion, but I went affected by the beauty and creativity of the pieces. First one, the logical, manufacture and criativity of these awesome figures, in themselves, are worth the experience. Then the...More
