The place was full so we had to wait in line. The managers made it very clear we were not welcome - preference was to be given to their preferred guests.

Rude and impolite service. Full on sexisms - very clear we were not let in because we were not half naked with some rich men with us.

Only go if you want to witness a throwback to bad taste from the ‘90s.

My daughter and I were still wanting to walk around beautiful Baden-Baden, 10:30 PM on a Thursday night. We wandered up Werderstrassa Street, parallel to this was a cute line up of open-market looking shops. We walked in front of the casino and lots of people were drinking eating talking outside. We heard a band in a bar area of the casino. They were really great! We got a couple of drinks and sat at the bar directly in front of the band. Drinks were on the pricey side, like 7 € each. The weird thing is... we were the only two in this place! People, go in!! I flt bad for these talented musicians.

I have never been treated so badly in my life! I entered and the receptionist, very rude, called us saying that she could not enter without a document. behind us a gentleman in a suit and with him, she asked for the documents politely. Preconception? xenophobia?
what an uneducated woman! Couldn't she just ask for the documents like a normal person would? oh of course, I'm not German and the attendant thinks she's better than me for that. prejudice was clear 🤮

Not a gambler, but took a tour of this world renowned casino, said to be the most beautiful in the world by Marlena Dietrich. It was decorated for Christmas which added to the ambiance. There is a dress code for those who wish to gamble. Definitely worth a visit.

I had been here before and had a good time. Won money. This time years later the Casino is horrible. First of all I was charged entry fee even though it was suppossed to be free for visitors. Secondly, A local German crowded in front of me and the Lady at the coat rack, let him do it. So that is how Americans are treated. Then for some reason these people like looking at my shoes( I had 400 dollar Bally shoes on) Very prentitous crowd here tonight and I def. have more money and class then they do.
If that wasn't enough I was never offered a drink. No one time in the three hours I was there was I offered a drink. The machines are computerized and it clearly is way sided for the casino. SO DO NOT EXPECT TO WIN HERE.
Beyond that the service was pathetic. Sure the Casino is a classic old style casino but they are surviving on past reputation. Any 5th class reno or carson city casino has better service. Sae your time and go to a French Casino or Monte Carlo. German casino= bad service and loss of money

Visited Baden-Baden for an anniversary celebration, and booked into the restaurant in the casino for dinner with friends (party of four). Somewhat of a disappointment - portions were modest and the service dreadfully slow. When you eat at a restaurant rated as top notch, and are charged accordingly (EURO c60.00 per head), you don't expect to have to wait 25 minutes between starters and mains and then to leave at the end of the meal still hungry? It wasn't for the lack of waiting staff, and I suspect there was only one chef on duty for the whole restaurant. Bar prices were as you would find in any hotel bar.

The casino itself is very oldy-worldy, and an experience to visit, although the games offered are nothing special. Roulette with table minimums of EURO 2 and EURO 5, Blackjack dealt from continuous shuffle machines with a EURO 10 per hand minimum and a Caribbean Stud table (although that wasn't open). The one good thing is that there is an indoor smoking lounge for those that do. For gents it's shirt, tie and jacket at the gaming tables, although the ladies seem to be able to get away with wearing just about anything. If you turn up without the aforesaid, they will rent you the required attire for EURO 8.00, but be prepared to look like a secondhand car dealer who's been summoned to court for selling death traps. Some sort of joke at the patrons' expense perhaps?

To sum up snooty and pretentious are two words that come to mind, and as someone else has already commented it would seem somewhere that continues to live on a past reputation and glories. My wife and I aren't planning to return.

At first, we did not expect that men were allowed only in tie. We got it for rent. When we first entered, the price for renting a tie and a jacket was 8 euros. When we entered the casino for the second time in an hour it became 11 euros. Moreover, the shirt cost 18 euros. I usually wear S or M for shirts and they turned out to have only XXL. And this is for 18 Euros!

During the game, I went out to use the rest room. In a few minutes I was going back inside the casino, and door was locked. They wouldn't let me in. In spite of the fact that I had my money on the table. They told me it was my problem. I was be wildert. Then a second member of the casiino staff appeared who had welcommed us an hour ago and told me that I couldn't enter, because it was too late. After I had asked him: how I can get my money back, since I had money on the poker table, he answered me: its your problem!

However, in the end, I managed to enter the casino. I was so disappointed that I decided for myself that I would never visit this casino again.

Being a casino fan, I was very disappointed. The main area requires a jacket and tie. The slot machine area is a small basement space totally devoid of charm. Not sure how the odds there work - it's one thing that I lost, but I didn't see anyone else win. I would not go back.

Previously allowed in without a tie (poloneck)...but not this time...Axel meira ("manager")...said "I am the manager, my rules are my rules...no tie...even if disabled/handicapped"...totally disrespectful, rude, and discriminating against disabled (blue badge!)...so shall now pursue action for being illegally discriminated against by the new n....s of this casino....obviously mafia management,...and to be avoided.

This beautiful building from opened it’s doors for the fist time in 1809. It became famous when gambling was forbidden in France in the 1830’s.

It has a great look from the outside. From the inside the Grand casino has pompeus gambling halls. With a correct clothing (Dress code) you can play Poker, Black Jack or Roulette.
They have a nice atmosperic bar and wonderfull
furnished gambling rooms

Need to know:
- Take your valid ID (passport) with you
- Minimum age 21 years
- Appropriate clothing for men - Tie and Jacket
- Same entrance ticket can be used for the
slotmachine rooms downstairs in the same
building. For this location less strict regulation
- Amount of slotmachines in the grand Casino
roundabout 14 and fownstairs rougly 140
separates in the moking and
non-smoking areas
- Photography is strickly forbidden

Dissapointing:
Very unfriendly staff, not supportive at all
Checking in was horrible, we felt like being treated as ‘criminals’

Car parking: Kurpark garage
Kaiserallee 1 or Werderstrasse 1 (Dorint Hotel).
This is a large underground parking garage with several entry or exit points.
Note: Cash opayment only up to Eur 20,- banknotes or Euro coins

Usefull review?
Hit me with a little thumbs up
