A little hard to find from centre of town and a good walk for the fit! Once you get to the top of the mountain the views are amazing. We went on a cold snowy day and was great to see families with small children using sleds to get back down. Plenty of hiking. Would love to go back in... More

Nice excursion with excellent few over Baden-Baden. A great experience to take the small railway to the top of the mountain. Good restaurant on top of the mountain with local Baden food.

It's a bit of a trek to walk up to the funicular, google says 18 minutes but it didn't take into account how many times you have to stop to catch your breath as it's so steep - it took us nearly an hour! But it was well worth it, the ride itself is gently and the views on the... More

We took bus #205 from town. The cabelcar operates automatically. It goes up a very steep grade. Coming down we got in the car and waited for it to go down. No, we had to press a button to make it go. Luckily, someone who knew that soon came and pressed it. Bus is not that frequent, so if you... More

Good fun activity with kids. The view from the top is fantastic. The train ride up is fun. There is a little playground for kids at the top.

Nice, quiet, peacefull view of the city and its surrounding. Very windy and cold in october. There is a small restaurant to hide from the wind, good soup and cakes.

We found out about this from our hotel staff and couldn't resist. The MerkurBergbahn is definitely one of the more interesting trains I've ever been on. You can hike up and down the mountain, but we had a limited amount of time and this took us up and down quickly, with amazing views. Absolutely worthwhile, even if you wind up... More

Merkur Bergban takes you to the top of Mount Merkur and back. You can reach the station by city bus 204 or 205 or by foot ( it will take you approximately 40 minutes from the city centre). If the weather allows, take a walk, it is pleasant and beautiful and will help you build up the appetite. The funicular... More
