Brahms Museum, very interesting place for those who like the composer. Documents, objects to preserve his memory. I really like to visit composer´s houses and this is one of my prefers.

I only gave this a moderate review because I was no able to get into the museum. It was a thrill to be there and it is a short bus trip and lovely walk from the center of Baden Baden. I usually don’t bother much writing bad reviews, but this was such a disappointment that I can’t help it. As you may know, this is the house where revered composer Johannes Brahms lived for 9 very productive years that yielded, among other things, the Second Symphony. walked past very early on a Monday morning (gates locked, very little information posted.) This man was a giant of German music, his haunts as a young artist are very interesting to see and understand. Maybe I'll make it back someday when it's open!

The small museum housed here is interesting, and well-presented. Best of all, is knowing that Brahsm composed in these rooms....

We were welcomed in the Brahms house in Baden-Baden by a very surprised volunteer. She wasn't expecting anyone to make the two mile journey out of the centre of Baden-Baden on a rainy day just before Christmas, but showed us around enthusiastically, and was extremely knowledgeable about Brahms' life and work.
