Love the awesome view from the top but could get pretty cold and windy. Could either hike up or take the Merkur Funicular Railway. Either way is awesome and worth the time. There is a cafe at the top that serves pretty authentic local food. Good place to chill and relax. Was also fortunate to catch the paraglider in action.... More

Amazing views across the Black Forest and into France, simply stunning. Don't forget your camera!. There's a cafe/restaurant at the top, although we didn't try it. Tip: if you are in the area for a holiday, try not to go at the weekend, as it gets very, very busy we went initially on a Sunday afternoon and couldn't even find... More

There is a lift to take you even higher and it is fun to take it but not necessary. Plenty of beautiful scenery and hiking trails. There are areas with some animals feed off from the people but the animals have plenty of space to roam around. It is just beautiful and clean and FREE!

We walked to the top and it took us about 2 hours. It was a bit steep and not so well signaled at times, but all in all it was a fun hike. I would recommend it. The view was awesome!

If you go uphill - you need time, physical condition and good shoes. The view pays the effort. Navigation is easy and clear.

Unfortunately the lift was not working when we arrived at the foot of the mountain but we decided to walk up. We did not manage to get to the top but we enjoyed the beautiful views. We also managed to spot some animal such as deer and wild boar. There are various trails one can take; and there are coloured... More
