Schlossberg is a nice place for a walk in a sunny day. You can go there by 2 routes. One is paved and quite easy, the other more steep and a little bit more demanding. However there is nothing more to say about it. Unfortunately there are now facilities on the top where people could eat or buy something to... More

If you are going to Freiburg you have to visit Schloßberg. It is easy to reach with only 5 minutes from the town, and you get a fantastic view over the town. I wasn't able to visit the tower due to renovation, but if you can, go there as well. If you are here under the summer season, do also... More

Goid way to spend the morning. Take the funicular up and walk up to the tower which is closed. That's the highest point. Great views. Somewhat strenuous climb but not bad. Nice views coming down on the south side too!

the Schlossberg is a billon the east side of Freiburg. There is a delightful biergarten just up from the Schwabentor which is well worth a visit on a summer's evening. The Greifenegg Restaurant is good with great views over the rooves of Freiburg. If you like a bit more of a walk then go up to the Belvedere and view... More

If you want to eat at the restaurant Dattler the funicular is a quick and easy way to get there. If you want the good views it is useless - it stops halfway up the hills among the trees where the only good views are from the restaurant terrace.

Take the lift up whdich is behind the town centre and you can either have a meal and coffe and look down on the town, or go walking, either long or short tours.

A great hike right from the city to the mountain. There is a biergarten with simple foods at the summit, where periodic sporting events are shown on big screens as well as concert events. Fantastic overlook of the city.

The Schlossberg is within easy walking distance of the old town. The hike is relatively steep but short. You are rewarded with great views of the city. There is a funicular if you don't feel like walking.

The walk up to Schlossberg is quick and gives great views of Freiburg, especially the Münster. You can even take an elevator for half of the distance to the restaurant. If you have more time, I'd suggest going to Schauinsland.
