The 150 years old funicular is a good example of German efficiency and engineering. It is also the fastest way to go to the castle, especially if you have to park the car… The ride was quick and smooth.

Though you can climb up the stairs all the way to the castle, the funicular is a very nice a fun way to go up there, too. Don't panic about the huge lines - they disappear the minute the wagon arrives. A short ride and you are there. The ticket includes the entrance to the castle and Pharmacy museum.

Loved these rides on both the new and old style carriages. Views are great so agree you should go to the top if you have time. Also enjoyed the visit to the castle included in the price although we just wandered around for a short time. The apothecary museum is worth a look, lots of chemist shops recreated in different... For $7 you can ride up and down the hill, to go all the way to the top it was more. Unfortunately today was bad weather, so we didn't think it would be worth it for a poor view. But on a not cloudy day, I would like to ride the funicular to the top.

Great ride on a very old Funicular. The weather was misty so it was a ride rather than a summit for the panorama. The Summit however is very disappointing with a half demolished house, a snack bar and some alleged views. Unless you are a funicular fan, don't bother on a misty day.

We road this to the castle and didn't go any further. If you only go to the castle then you don't get any views from this little train. I had no idea there were things to do at the top of the mountain. Now I have a reason to go again! If you take the train the castle you can... More

Took the funicular to Castle Schloss . A modern reception awaits with very attentive staff. A regular service every 10 minutes Is superb. It is a modest fee to travel €6 for a return journey . The ride is short ( about 5 mins) and the carriages are very comfortable. A nice added value experience.

we went up early in the morning and there was hardly any crowd which made the whole experience really special. especially since we went all the way up to the top and even though we didn't really have a view, it was an amazing experience amongst the clouds.

A great way to see the city from a wonderful viewpoint Advise you take the old funicular further up to the top so you can look down onto the castle down below and then walk down through the pine woods to the castle

What a unique and cool way to reach the castle. Pay a little more and go all the way to the top the view is worth it! It was a little cold so a jacket may be necessary.
