I'm from Heidelberg myself and haven't been to the brewery for a while. We were very disappointed by the unfriendliness of the staff. At first nobody paid any attention to us and then finally we got a table, it was way too loud, again they ignored us, then the menu, everything was overpriced, not typical brewery food, we left and found a great brewery! What a shame....

The atmosphere at this restaurant is exactly what you expect for a European brewery and eatery. The food is delicious, plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors.
I had the Pork fillet, which came with mixed vegetables and pasta, and it was the best pork fillet I ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
One thing to remember, like many restaurants of this type of Germany, this is a "locals favored" establishment. That is to say, locals hang out here for extended periods of time and tend to get favored status when it comes to good seats. We still had a good table and seats, but it was clearly because the wait staff concluded that we were there only to eat and leave as opposed to hang out and drink several beers. I'm not saying this like it's a bad thing, just that you should understand, if you're American or other foreigner tourist, the staff is pretty good about picking up on it, and they may be somewhat reluctant to give you seats ordinarily set aside for "regulars".
That being said, still a great restaurant, and I'd highly recommend giving it a shot.
Another advisory, a colleague that had previously lived in the area warned us to avoid any dishes featuring beef. In both instances that I went against this advice, I was disappointed, beef is NOT something done very well in Germany, pork and to a lesser extent chicken and fish are the staples of the German diet.

Very traditional place when it comes to food. But not particular good, just decent. And heavy stuff.
They have good beer and that helps on a very warm day when I was there.
Service is good.
I will nor recommend any special dishes, but if you need to eat until you explode, well......

First, it was not a Wien Schnitzel and I would recommend the owner to rename it properly as the Baby Nektar Schnitzel. Secondly when it came I complained for the size, which were two very small pieces of breaded meat, and it passed unnoticed. Finally when I paid I have complained again and I was told that the size sometimes depends by how the butcher cuts the meat??!?! Too bad the price is not adjusted accordingly to the size. Everything is good starting from the beers, the food and location. So, if you happen to be there check if they have renamed the Schnitzel as I have suggested. If not: BEWARE!!!

We enjoyed this place to sit and relax while others were shopping / walking around. The beer was great and they had very tasty typical German food.

When a place says they do Oma's beef olives, they had better be good. And... they were excellent. Good service, decent beer.

On the recommendation of the local information office we walked around the corner to this restaurant type pub. We knew when we read the unusual menu that we were in for a great lunch and we were not disappointed. The food - all four dishes- were spectacular. The beer and wine were the best ever. We totally loved it. A wonderful eating experience .

We stopped by here at a recommendation from a local. I'm very happy we found this place. The food was very good, and the beer was the best I've ever had. There was something about their Summer Lager that made it so delicious no words can explain. I supposed that is incentive enough to go and grab a pint!

Stopped her for a group lunch as part of a Viking cruise tour.
The German food was amazing and even though I'm not a beer drinker, I had to partake in their homemade Beer which was great.

Typical German food. However, the beer is some of the freshest I've had. For the type of beer, I didn't notice any aftertaste that I've seen for typical German beers. It was September 2014 I've went.
