Great park - a little off the beaten track

Though Luisenpark is still my favourite park in Mannheim, I really like Herzogenriedpark a lot. Various playgrounds, a huge climbing frame, trampoline (for a fee), picnic areas, kiosks, a rosarium, a large paddling pool and animal compounds offer a great variety of activities. Twice a year, it hosts excellent medieval markets.

This park has everything you need for a day spent with your family. The kids can play and climb around. There are tennis courts that can we used after making a reservation. Park has also some animals. Go and see it!

I went there with my friends for a picnic. The park is big and has a lot of facilities. Overall, everything a park must have is included in Herzogenriedpark. But if you are a tourist, I wouldn't highly recommend to visit this place since it is more suitable for locals or long-stay tourists.

It's a great park with lots to do. Animals, sand box, swings, slides, etc. Great for toddlers and small kids. Lots of private park space to lounge around and read a book in the grass. The entrance fee is extremely good value.

This park is absolutely wonderful. Even though it is very popular, it is absolutely massive, so, aside from the playground, areas are never too full. There's cafes, animals, flowers, ponds, water features, playgrounds... the perfect location to spend a warm summer's day!

I stayed at a nearby hotel and wanted a nice tranquil place to walk and this was recommended. It was a real joy to see all the families having such a good time (think homesick) but the pleasant surroundings made for a lovely and leisurely stroil

I would only see this park in the top 5, if you are looking for activities in Mannheim with children. Then it is well worth a trip. Smaller then the famous Luisenpark, but it offers playgrounds, a water playground, small animals, a fitness path and a big and beautiful garden area. Herzogenriedpark is a great place to let your kids... More

The Eltern-Kind Initiative used to be stationed where the beautiful architectural structure is (or used to be), but had to move out. There are various lakes there, lots of acquatic fowl, copious carps that are HUGE, and more than five different play grounds for kids. There is a large frog population on one side of the water-play ground behind the... More
